Coach MadMac led his rookie Deep Dark Chocolate to a surprising 2-1 victory against the favored Vambrosia 2. This is Coach MadMac's first game since his return back from retirement from Blood Bowl.

DDC received a bad kick and Blitzer Ghirardelli easily scored the first TD 4 turns later. Rookie Lineelf Guittard threw the TD pass to Ghirardelli.

TheTD drive cost DDC Blitzer Dagoba to sit out the rest of the game with a minor injury. He will be back next game no worst for wear. Vambrosia 2 Vampire Von Kaiser was injured during the drive as well. Fortunately for DDC he failed to regenerate and also set out the rest of the game.

On turn 5 of 1st half, Vambrosia 2 received the kickoff and came back with a vengance. Two DDC players are removed from pitch, Lineelf Vovani is badly hurt and Lineelf Guittard is knocked out as payback for his TD pass. Vambrosia 2 Coach Relezite assigns Vampire Soze as the ball carrier and surrounds him with an imposing cage of 6 Thralls and Vampire Satanfist.

With 3 turns left in the half it does not look like DDC has much of a chance of stopping Vambrosia 2 from scoring with their 3 player advantage. On Turn 7 Vampire Soze Blitzes through the DDC center and sets himself up for a TD. Vampire Satanfist covers his 6 0'clock. The thrall provide support by putting a tackle zone on every DDC Elf. DDC has to dodge 3 players out of thrall coverage if he wants to a chance to stop this TD drive.

1, 2, 3, and 4 successful dodges! Blitzer Valrhona knocks down Vampire Soza, catches the ball, and dodges out of Vampire Satanfists reach. What a play.

Vampire Baron Von DiamondFist kicks the prone Lineelf Valor stunning him. Vampire Satanfist knocks down DDC Blitzer Valrhona but is tripped when he tries to dodge out of DDC reach in order to get the ball and score. The first half ends with DDC up 1-0.

It still does not look good for the Rookie Darkies. Even with a Perfect Defense they are down 2 players and facing 3 Vampires. Vambosia Vampire Soze easily scores on Turn 7.

The score is tied 1-1 when DDC with two turns left to the game. The Darkelves have their work cut out for them. The two remaining Vampires are on the LOS and 7 thralls are in the backfield to stop the despirate 2 turn TD drive.

DCC Blitzer Ghirardelli starts the drive with the ball because thralls can't kick. He runs deep into the Vambrosia backfield all alone except for very thin coverage from Lineelf Kshocolat. Lineelves Dolfin and Cavalier place themselves in harms way in order to tie up several Vambrosia thralls and keep them from surrounding the ballcarrier who is within TD range.

Vambrosia Vampire Satanfist dodges our ot two TZ and Blitzes after making two GFI rolls but fails to grab the ball. In the last seconds of the game Lineelf Kshocolat is the lone DCC player near the ball. Vampire Satanfist hovers over the ball and guards the only path to the endzone. Kshocolat dodges once, twice, picks up the ball, and dodges again!!! He is in the clear and running for the endzone. He GFI once and Twice - TOUCHDOWN. DDC wins 2-1. What an exciting half.

In an interview following the game Coach MadMac had this to say: "DDC had some tough breaks early in the game and was down 2-3 players the entire game. This was made up by Vambrosia's OFAB and Regeneration. The Vampires rarely failed to knock down at least one thrall every turn. This effectively cancelled their player advantage. Two Vampires unable to regenerate gave us a chance. Great plays by Lineelves when then were needed did the rest. Coach Relezite was a pleasure to play with. I was surprised when his players started fouling even though he was up 2 players. I look forward to playing him again. I will be sure to bring a dirty player to the rematch."
