“GLT III Qualifier #9, First round match.
Human miners.....WTF!!! Trying to steal our work. A bunch of scabs, if you asks us. They must have crossed the picket line while we were on strike, trying to get colder beer delivered to us.
Some highlights/lowlights that I recall from the match. I failed a GFI to score a go ahead touchdown in the first half, after playing ball control and removing several of his players. Including Griff on a hit and Damian Bachmeier, when I went over and "nudged" him to make sure he was ok while he was on the ground.
Second half started of with a BLITZ! for me, although I was unable to secure the ball safely. Fouls in consecutive turns to start the second half killed his ogre and then a blitzer. He was able to get downfield with Morg and complete a long bomb to him after I foolishly left him uncovered.
I was able to prevent him from stalling too much and was able to pull equal with him in the last turn to force OT.
In OT he kicked to me and more bloodshed ensued. I was able to secure the ball and march up the field. Cinabre put up a valiant defense but ran out of players in the end.
Thanks for the fun and talkative match.
/me raises a pint of the Springfield Brewing Companies finest to Cinabre and his attempted union busting human miners.
As a side note, after the game, the Nuln Federierte Bergarbeiter decided to join the miners union after all. They will now be playing dwarves at LEAST once every 10 games.
