#2 Air Attack – Dead (RIP)
#11 Air Buscuit – Dead (RIP)
A rough match on both ends... I think coach Johnny_Ryce summed it up best: "Some games just suck all around."

The Skinks started the game with 10 players and lost the coin toss. First block of the game KO'd a saurus, and the 2nd block killed one (apoth failed again). So before the Skinks got a chance to throw a block, we were down to 8 players.

In desperation, the Skinks threw themselves at the Norse. Butterfingers Prez couldn't handle a ball to save his life, and the Skinks were able to take advantage and run one in.

The rest of the match was a blur of injuries and poor ball handling. Towards the end, the Skinks were able to pick up the ball, SI the dangerous blitzer on a foul, and run it in on turn 16. By that point, few players from either team remained on the pitch.

The Norse apoth saved a RIP on a failed gfi, and thus was not able to save the Ogre RIP by the Skink Kroxigor. That was a serious blow against the Norse, and hopefully they will recover soon. On our side, a rookie saurus was lost by the failed apoth, and he of course won the MVP. Also, an important SS/DT skink was lost. On the flip side, a rookie skink became more powerful with +ST, and a block skink gained the dirty player skill.

This team is still struggling to keep its head above water, and hopefully some day we'll start another match with a full team. Next match is against dwarves, and we expect to lose several more players.

gl to Johnny_Ryce and the Icy Black Hand of Death... they played well and this one would have been theirs if they could have picked up the ball reliably.

#9 "Frosty" Throst – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#9 "Frosty" Throst – Smashed Knee (NI)
#12 Lord Torvald – Dead (RIP)
The Norse came into this came the conservative favorites, at least on paper. The skinks beat the norse last season, and the norse were ready to continue their two game winning streak. With a death and a KO in the first volley things looked good.

Then three failed sure hands pick ups and one failed pass (rerolled) later, the skinks would grab the ball and score. Glacier would badlly hurt himself on a GFI (rerolled). Sigfast would die on a gfi (rerolled), but was brought back with the doctor. Then, immediately afterwards, the orge was killed. The skinks would break Vices arm to make way for the win. Of course, the skinks got it bad also, with two deaths (one of which from a failed apo).

Frosty was the only person to skill, but he was niggled in the game and then niggled again on aging. Woof.

Sigfast came on strong after being brought back from the dead to score two casualities himself. No loss of ff and enough money to buy a new blitzer would put the norse at 10 players for the next game. Not where I wanted to be, but such is these norsemen's lot it seems...

Hats off to Hunter. His dice were bad too, and he outplayed me. Good luck!
