#16 Van B – Dead (RIP)
“With the Woodies coming out of their game against the Khermi relatively unscathed things were looking good season XX. That was however until this match. The Men of Wood still playing without a coach we outplayed by Head on Collision.
The Woodies recieved and held the ball deep with GI leafy and Van B playing catchies with each other. The Collision were doing a good job of marking up on the Elf recievers but they did not apply any pressure on the ball. As the half wore on it became evident that the Woodies were going to try and score on the buzzer so as not to give the undies a chance to equalise before halftime. But with player personel slowly getting depleted the Woodies offence collapsed when the moment of truth came. First Van B was called on to regather the ball after Fat al had knocked over Crowlock and with only seconds left on the clock it still looked like a Woody TD was on the cards. However Fat Al continued hhis great game by plucking the ball out of thin air just as it was sailiing towards the endzone.
With the scores deadlocked at 0-0 and the Woodies looking very battered and sore it was always going to be a big ask in the 2nd half. The H.O.C set up a nice cage and were in hury as they plowed on down the field. Not being able to get a good shot on the Ball Carrier, the WDD decided to put in the boot in an attempt to get the Crash to stop stalling. All this did was make them mad, which did not go down well for the Woodies. Van B was continuing his poor game by falling over everytime the wind blew. It was one of this occasions that the Double Double lost their star. With Van B on the ground the Crash showed no mercy laying into him like their was no tommorow..... and their wont be for poor Van B. With Van B gone the fight left from the Woods and Fat Al capped of a stella game with the winning TD right at the death.
With a very ordinary looking 1/1/1 record the Woodies are going to need results to go their way if the are to have any hope of going back to prem this season and with they were out played today the probably needn't worry.

3pts: Fat Al - As easy a choice as they come. His intercept at the end of the first changed the game. If the WDDs could have taken a 1-0 lead into the 2nd half it would have made things much different. Also managed to get a larson.
2pts: Ed On Crash - Did a lot of the hard work for the crash.
1pt: Axel Dent - Put in the boot that ended a truly great career.

The Collision began with Col Ission sending Philberto into the crowd, where he was lucky to escape any injury. Col will need to ensure he knocks the opposition into the undead fans section next time. Following this Col also was sent careening into the crowd, but thankfully the fans were still too busy trying to grab the clothing off Philberto's back to notice the Wight blitzer, and he escaped unharmed.
Whilst this was going on GI Leafy, and Van B were playing catch in the backfield, only no-one had told Van B he had to hold onto the ball.
The Collision seemed to be controlling their half no gaps were opening up that the elves were able to exploit and when Dirk Condor noticed Mikey the Bikey stumble and fall, he called over some mates and began to exploit the situation. When the pile up had cleared, Mikey needed to be carried off the ground...this time though Dirk was spotted and despite his best effort at pleading innocent he was sent off. The crowd was in uproar.
It did appear the elves were going to score as Crowlockylockville held onto a difficult catch, one that was only just saved from interception by Fat Al. But Fat Al followed up his marvelous defensive work with a mighty blitz which left the Wardancer bloody and insensible back in the team CAS box. Despite the defensive work Fat Al had already put in to ensure his team stayed level at the half, the elves still looked like likely scorers with Mr Murray waiting in the end zone for the final TD pass. Van B made the play, but at the last instant Fat Al was there to intercept the ball! The crowd let a humongous roar, which only got louder as Mr Murray was barged off the field and beaten senseless.
The second half began with the Undead fielding many more players. The elves put in some gutsy attempts to get the ball back a noteable effort was GI Leafy knocking down Semi Trailer the Mummy unnassisted. Unfortunately his good work was spoiled by Van B's follow up which only let the ball carrier escape the elves.
The Elves almost turned it over again as Hutchy managed to block the the ball carrier who was assisted by a team mate. The elves surged forward and it was up to Van B to gather the ball. The Elves coach was heard praying in his box for an arsy play, but it was not to be and Van B came crashing down.
From here Fat Al decided he would take over the ball carrying and he whipped in and picked it up, then bounded towards the TD line.
Col Ission had been imposing himself on the game, but was brutally kicked and taken from the field. The Elves did not stop trying to reach Fat Al who had already begun his celebrations on the end line. Sadly They could not manage it...Philbert ended up stunned, and Van B finished the game in dismal style, failing two dodges in a row, and then being mercilessly booted.
Fat Al strolled over the winning score.
After the game it was revealed that Star player Van B, had already taken a bribe and intended to join the undead ranks. This explains his lack lustre play and the dodginess of his final few minutes. His efforts were appreciated by the undead fans, and he was awarded the MVP for the game.
