In a desperate effort to achieve a win the Cheerful Deads enlisted the aid of the notorious star player Count Von Drakenborg. The count made his presence aware early by RIP'ing Girl One early in the match, but the apo saved her. Before that a tactical foul by Recruitment Rob had put the ST 4 blitzer Joe Pi out of commission. Things looked good, but I'm aware of the pirate curse and I told tom that this is how it works...it lures out my hopes just to crush them in the end.

The half went great and the Cheerful Deads made their way towards the end zone, putting several opponents in the box while keeping their own ranks unharmed. In the 8th turn Bekhbob could run in the TD. Foolishly I positioned my zombies to allow my opponent a chain push for a 1 turn scoring attempt. The series of pushes worked and to tom's amazement the catcher was able to dodge himself through the lined up players guarding the end zone line. I was less surprised, but at that point I thought he deserved it.

The 2nd half would prove rough though. Everything started to go their way and they managed to score in turn 4. With only 9 players left on the pitch it didn't look like an easy task to defend the lead...not without the pirate curse as an aid. The remaining turns of the match was just a bizarre mix of freakish rolls from the humans. They dodged frequently at a 100 % success rate, they withstood the crucial blocks, like when my strip ball blitzer 2 dice blocked the ball carrier twice without bringing him down...just inches away from the end zone line. The situation looked so bleek for the humans that tom pretty much promised me that I would manage to tie the match, but I of course know better.

In Precint 10's final turn the ball carrier made a gutsy dodge just outside of the end zone line, broke free and threw the ball over the entire pitch. I had a ghoul parked there, but even though I bothered to try of course I couldn't make the throw back to Count Drakenborg.

The Cheerful Deads lose another match due to hated circumstances, but that has almost become their trade mark by now. Thanks for the match, tom. I will try to take you up on the offer of a rematch. It was fun and exciting even if I so freakishly failed to achieve the tie I so deserved :)

Edit: Thanks, didn't want to use the count to much to gobble up all the SPP's, hehe. It was a fun match, looking forward to the rematch :)

A lucky victory (see my first TD, 1 turn with 4+ dodges through defense line) vs a friendly opponent, therefore a rematch is needed and will be really welcomed.

I think it's the first time i play a team with quite a high TR/TS among ranks could be found the dreadful Count Von Drakenborg.

I was curious to see how i could handle the starplayer so many coaches use to win tournaments games.

To be honest, i would have been in real trouble if my opponent had relied on the Count + the boring cage to protect him while the mummies and the dirty player(s) clean the path.

Instead of that, my opponent used the Count as a nasty support (hats to the using of the hypnotical gaze cunningly). I don't think the Count had his hands on the ball a single time. Hats (again) to my opponent for this.

To sum up, since a few of my important players were out (BH or KO) i'm lucky to win this match.

I look forward to play again vs Pirog and i wish him better luck next time :)
