My RL-Friend "WoodyIsGod" is getting back into fumbbl, and I spectated his second game, which happened to be against Noel. Noel hammered him 5-0 in what was an impressive display. Afterwards I sent him a PM demanding I take him on in order to regain honour lost.

So we started the game roughly equal on TR/SR but Noel far above me in CR. I had one plan - go after his gutter runners. Particularly the one-turn-scoring-ag5-are-you-serious-machine "Roseyfoot".

What resulted was a blood bath. I was getting very lucky on my AC rolls but wasn't doing any perm damage, I KO'd 6 people by half time. With his side lacking numbers, I scored. I got his one turn scorer, but he got him back, and some extremely unlucky dice rolls (on his behalf) saw me go into the break in front.

It turned out to be fortunate, because he scored straight away with Roseyfoot. It was 1-1 as I recieved without having had a turn and I kept the temp slow and grinding. I kept hitting him trying to capatalise on my numbers advantage, he kept getting players in to harrass me ball carrier. I managed to KO Roseyfoot fairly early, and knew if I could hold on I would win. I was nearly proved wrong as one of his GR's ran down the pitch ready to score, but I managed to chase him down.

In the end I just had too many players on the field compared to him, although I did have to GFI once in the last turn to score... which I failed... but made it on the RR. My heart was in my mouth!

Overall Noel was an exceptional opponent. He didn't complain about luck, was happy to play agressive, willing to share a joke, and didn't get bitter about losing so many players. I was happy there was no lasting damage on his team, but even happier that I managed to beat him!
