“A very tough game against a very skilled coach.

Handicap was Bad Press (helped opponent win T16 Get the Ref roll, and maybe one of the +FF kick-offs).

The Mercy started off in offence, but a Pitch Invasion (3 of his stunned, 2 of mine) left the ball in a precarious situation.

The Mercy started in offence had trouble securing the ball, with one of their players almost pushed out of bounds on the first turn (I took Pow over rerolling for a push).

The Worse made a 2+ 3+ 2+ 2+ to get the ball (without RR) but then tried to be cheeky and throw it into their own backfield but fumbbled the ball back to where it was in the first place!

The Mercy recovered the ball and caged near the LOS, but the Worse had a Wizard up their sleeve (damn 200K cash to burn hehe) and of the 5 players under the template, one was BH, 2 were KO (AG4 Chaos Warrior and Claw RSC Chaos Warrior) and maybe the last 2 were also knocked over.

This let the Worse steal the ball once more with a strong player advantage (11 vs 8) but the dice were very unfriendly as the Worse rolled a few 1s and double skulls (one double skulls niggle!) and the Mercy clawed back the player advantage with a KO and a BH.

Both teams fought for the ball and the Worse were pinned due to the Str4s and all the Guards and didn't score in the end though they had a slight chance (4 dice on the ball carrier came up with nothing).

The Mercy had an unlucky set of KO rolls however and started the second half with just 10 players on defence.

The Worse finally got off their first foul at the start of the second half, KOing a player and making it 11 vs 9. The Worse pushed the ball left, then swung it right as they fouled repeatedly with the ref watching to try and assert a bigger player majority. Two players were sent off, but the fouls also KOd another 2-3 Mercy players and it was 9 vs 5 late in the second half.

The Worse had the game sewn up when they ran the ball deep to one corner out of reach, but in a show of greed, ran it back to the middle to pass to a 3 SPP player. who of course dropped the 3+ catch with RR!

The Mercy then pulled off a magic set of rolls, with their Beastman making a 4+ and 3+ dodge, and a 2+ pick up (Big Hand), 3+ dodge and possibly 2 GFIs were also involved and then a Long Pass? upfield!

It was T16 for the Worse and their greed looked like it would cost them the game! Luckily for them however, their star Thrower was in range, and he picked up the ball (sure hands) and lobbed a Long Pass (accurate and pass so 4+) to an AG4 Blitzer near the end zone.

Instead of running in the certain matchwinning TD, the Worse risked it all again and handed off to the 3 SPP Thrower who missed the first catch attempt but a team RR saved my greedy butt and the Worse won 1-0.

It was truly a fun match against a very skilled coach. Despite being outnumbered, he used his more advanced players (I had more players and he had less who had more skills, notably a LOT of guard) very well and kept my counterattack limited.

I was certainly very lucky with the armour rolls (mine held out a lot in the first half) and the super wizard, but the mid to late part of the first half was very tough with a lot of crud rolls. Still a 0-0 half was a pretty fair result.

Second half was always going to be tough for the Mercy with a man down on defence against 3 DPs and sure enough, the Worse got the big player advantage and secured the win (only to risk it all with greedy play on T15). ”
