This was a fun game. Although I honestly think that it was a game that I should have won.

The key mistake was when I got touchback after the first TD, and went for a Golem TD. I got carried away and moved the Golem first. I decided to go out from the lightning bolt range, and that required gfi roll. I had rerolls, so I made it. Snakies.

My whole team was left unmoved, players prone etc. After that my opponent got the ball and scored 2-0. I had chances on 2nd half, but the dice was just not there. I was lucky on cas, but failed some gfi's and dodges.

Both TD's from my opponent were quite lucky, involved 5+ picking and some dodging. But as they say, big time players make big time plays in big time situations.

I had never played against fairies, and it was quite interesting to see how good the team actually is. All I saw was 3 non-moving trees and bunch of ST1 kids. How wrong I was.

It was a good game with ups and downs, and some nice personal efforts from some players. Azure surely knows how to play fairies, and next time I know a little more about them.

In NCBB this was one game that I was counting to win, but failed again. The good part is that my Wights learned something, rolling doubles and +ST after the game.

NCBB:

A hard fought game in a downpour that started midway through the first half. Strip ball managed to jar the ball loose and then a nice pickup (5+) on a "why not" play resulted in the first TD. The second TD came after a snake eyes on a gfi gave the ball to Boise State...the Bulldogs then had 2 turns to score with no RRs and on T8 made the pickup, handoff and gfi for the score...to make it 2-1. Boise State was so caught offguard that on the ensuing kickoff they forgot to even try for the TTM turn 8 score...thinking it was already the second half. After halftime, both teams and coaches came out much stronger. The fairies were receiving and held the 2-1 lead, they set up to do a left sweep with TTM backup...but the ball was kicked perfectly on the other side of the field...5 fairies went for the ball....but pickup and RR failed...unsupported by the trees (1 had taken root), the Bulldogs crashed into the faires around the ball...summoning the wizard - a ball of flame slammed into a zombie and flesh golem that were near the ball...this gave the fairies just enough of an edge to finally pickup the ball. It was a tense time...the three trees were soon only supported by 5 fairies as the rest were recovering from a variety of injuries. The sweep play was back on and Boise State was in scoring position, but needed to move a few more players to screen the ball carrier when the triple skull/pow from a tree came (only once this game which if anything is below average). However, a wight with 2 gfi (no RRs left) made the blitz and got the POW to send the fairy into the CAS box...3 turns were left and the Bulldogs make the critical pickup in the rain and were off downfield. It looked like a draw...the few remaining fairies were plastered into the ground. However, the Bulldogs missed one important aspect. With a great roar - Bush Hammer (who for the first time in 13 games failed to record a CAS) saved the day - dodging away from a zombie, the treeman lumbered over the ball carrier and smacked him hard...the ghoul stayed on its feet, but Iron Zabransky was waiting and crunched the ghoul...badly hurting him and between them the treemen preserved the victory for Boise State!

An incredible game - very fun! Thanks!
