“WIL Great Albion Regional Division VII - Round Two
Hearts went into this one not expecting to get much from the game except for a beating and perhaps a skill or two if they managed a pass! They thought it had all gone pear shaped when the first attempt at some farming led to a fumbled pass within range of an opposing ghoul. Fortunately a slip by the ghoul left Hearts with the chance to make a long pass for the score.
Rest of the game saw the WIL taking the game by the scruff of the neck and caging up and driving in the scores. Hearts managed a few lucky armour breaks and to put the occasional zone on the ball carrier but with no failed dodges it was all in vain.
Hearts were left with a couple of opportunities for true elvish scores, one to regain the lead and another for a late equaliser. Catching in zones, dodging through and going for it. But unfortunately they never even got close.
Much closer game than expected with 2-1 being a fairly respectable score. Four skills from the game and just the one SI made it even better. Shame about the loss of fans. Clearly winning is more important to them than blood!
Congratulations to Ultwe and I expect him to make it out of the Regional and up to the Conferences this season. Much as it pains me to see a Hibs fan doing well! :P”
“Well... We looked at this matchup and thought... "Yup.. that one, we may win" and it proved to be. Though, facing a coach of vastly superior skill, we had no choice but to force an early score from him, and then do two long drown-out drives. We did try to play fair, and left Azrahn with 2 shots at 2-turn scores, but as we outnumbered him we weer able to shut down his attack.
Was a fun game, though.
And now, it is up for bigger and better things... (Hopefully :-p)”
