Both teams brought a wizard, handicaps cost Nocturama a Blitzer from It wasn't me and 2 RR from Doom & Gloom. It was snowing the entire match.
Mori received first, but lost the ball to Nocturama after making a push to score fast. Mori also lost their DP to the crowd. Nocturama moved the ball to the other side of the pitch, but we were too sure of ourselves and allowed Mori to take it back, forcing the use of the wizard. Nocturama recovered the ball again and brought it to relative safety, but Mori made a desperate run backwards and knocked the ball loose once more, forcing Nocturama to make some 2+ rolls without RR to secure the half-time lead. We made them, and it was 1-0 at half-time.
For our own drive, Nocturama had decided to play bash. We followed the plan pretty well, but Mori's leapers made it more difficult than anticipated, knocking the ball loose more than once. The ball was always deep within Nocturama lines however, so Mori could never steal it away. Their wizard was also handicapped by the fact that Nocturama stayed out of lightning bolt range...
...until Mori actually did get the ball away from Nocturama's players. At that point, Nocturama had to make a pick-up and quick pass to score, but failed, and Mori stole the ball! Nocturama knocked it free again near the sideline, where we picked it up. Zzzzap! The wizard popped the ball again, and Mori tried to bring it within scoring range, but now it was their turn to fail the pass, allowing Nocturama to recover the ball and move it to safety, scoring 2-0 i the final turn.
GG Frusicante, you played well but were outmatched. See you around.”
