With Eden Sweetweed and Scotty NoChance both out of the match, it was up to the rookies to pull out the win.

After an innitial triple skull block to start the game, with the ball kicked deep, Stout handed off to Hamswiper who was knocked down midfield, turning th ball over to the blitzing Thrall. Beancouner blitzed the ball free and scampered and dodged to the endzone despite having 4 blocking dice thrown at him.

The Shivering Timbers began blocking well and amassed 3 cas. Deeproot just couldn't block well with half the vamp team hanging in his branches.

In he second half, after a failed block by Brandy and Apple, Carina trips on a dodge attempt and Apple picks up the ball, hands it to Brandy who runs out of the Vampires' reach.

Toga Raiders win it 2-0.

Most people see halflings as waddling tubs of goo, and thus underestimate them too much. I knew this was going to be a tough matchup regardless of who did and did not show, and it bore out in the evening. Despite spiking the Raiders' pregame vat of Gatorcade and giving several flings a case of Chefs' Revenge, we found ourselves down numbers in a hurry despite an early miracle block from Francine that their tree doctor managed to fix (Great brass from Mspanke for apothing a BH on a tree).

From there we made a best attempt to get players off the pitch while playing ball keepaway for a bit...but unfortunately, the mighty moots knew just where to hit, and the hunger of the vamps didn't help matters much.

Kudos on a great game - looking forward to a rematch.
