Starting with 11 players against the defending champion Oregon Unducks, I entered into this match with more than a little trepidation. Losing Black Orc, Tamba Hali, on the first hit of the game didn't help.

Later that half Troll suffered was KO'd, the Unducks promptly scored. It looked like a rout would ensue. As 9 Pain State players took the field the coach spoke to the team "Just don't let them get another one!" Going down by two with Orcs is a bad idea.

Desperation mode kicked in, and Pain State began to take risks, dodging Blitzer Pus Lovesneez into the Unduck backfield and pairing him up with Blitzer, Shame Conlin, the rest of the team desperately tried to tie up the Oregon line as best they could with only 6 other guys, Pain State hoped for the best...and was not disappointed. 12 dice including 4 from a tackler still saw the ball-carrier standing with the ball in only a single TZ. Off he went to score the equalizer. 1-1 TIE.

Bad dice saw the half end.

Pain State received the kickoff to start the 2nd half. Again, they started with 9 players. Again desperate measures ensue. And again, 4 dice from a Wight tackler result in favor of the greenskins, this time resulting in the blocker down and the agile Pain State blitzer scampering for the end-zone. Pain State thrower, Snod Blacksledge, helped out by putting a hit on a wight to free up the ballcarrier. 2-1 Pain State.

As it turns out Pain State secondary simply could not stop the Unduck Ghouls. The orcs tried to pressure them, and they tried to contain them, but nothing worked. So Oregon equalized quickly and kicked off to Pain State again.

Pain State conservatively ran some power left but ultimately unless the greenskin luck held out, they could not hope to score, and they were not going to screw up a draw against a top tier team in order to lose to them in the closing seconds. They therefore protected the ball and ended the game in a draw.

Summary:
I couldn't stop his trio of blodging Ghouls. His scores were dominant play and mine, as was pointed out in game by my opponent, heavily depended on Luck! :o) Anyway you slice it, this TIE is a HUGE Win for the Pain State Program!!! WOOT! WOOOOOOOOOT!
