“WIL Great Albion Regional Division VII - Round Seven

Final round of the season and Hearts came into this one with the possibility of stealing the third promotion spot. With them facing off against the team they were competing with it for and being massive underdogs it didn't look likely though!

Handicaps were pretty good. A Virus would have been perfect but it just wasn't to be. Christian managed to get a strength boost as well as becoming remarkably resilient (Illegal Drugs and Iron Man). The team had also been putting in some extra time on the practice field to try and give them a bit of an edge (Extra Training).

First half and Hearts started off defending. With one of Norso Good's dirty players having niggled out of the match Hearts tried to take advantage. Applying a firm boot to Bowser and niggling him. The apoth was on hand though to mend whatever was broken. The half saw some reasonable defence from Hearts and they somehow went in at half time with the score still level.

Second half though and none of their KOs decided to show up while Norso Good could again field a full squad. Hearts tried to keep the ball deep while trying to open up a scoring opportunity. When the time came to go for the long ball over the top though it all went horribly wrong. Norso Good clearing up the messy effort and driving in an easy score.

With two turns left it didn't look good for Hearts. Again they kept the ball deep while trying to force a hole. When the blocks went their way it was time to again try to move the ball. A swift interchange at the halfway line and a neatly threaded ball left Juho Mäkelä with nothing between him and the goal. Scoring in the final minutes to tie up the game.

Was a close and tense contest which Hearts are just happy to have kept close. They were not confident coming into this fixture! Congrats to Dave, all the best for next season in the Conferences.”
