It was a good game against a superior team with excellent coaching. The Gunfighters feel fortunate to come away with a tie. I don't really think that the smelling salts had much to do with the game as I only had 2 in the ko box after my first score and only got one of them back. My big break came on the opening turn when moonl1te lost one of his guard lineman to a ko (who never made it back to the game) and then on the second turn moonl1te lost his 2nd guard lineman to a BH. Huge break for the Gunfighters, no doubt about it.

Moonl1te played a great game and is fun to play. I'm sure this will just be the first of many good games between us that are decided by luck of the dice.

#7 Stanley Wilson – Smashed Knee (NI)
#8 Stephen Peterman – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#8 Stephen Peterman – Smashed Knee (NI)
Despite being the stronger team this match was an uphill battle all the time: Quinn got Smelling Salts and Doom&Gloom as handicaps which cut my rerolls by 3. Smelling Salts also turned out to be exactly the right hc for him as I KO'd lots of his players yet failed to at least BH them.
First turn started with the Gunfighters getting a Quick Snap and knocking out one of my two linos with Guard. His second turn saw the other Guard lino being BH'd and the apo saving John Stanton's live from being fouled to death... My first two dodges (both with Team RR) resulted in a stun and a KO for me, some blocks of his and a double skull (no RR left due to D&G) saw another three of my players being KO'd. I managed to delay his TD until his 7th turn but couldn't do any better.
I started my drive with 10 against 11 players and one reroll for thanx to my brilliant coaching. Despite horrible block on the LOS C.J. Mosley managed to throw a Long Bomb to Stanley Wilson waiting for the ball while being marked by Pat Garret. Thanx to his Dodge skill he managed to even the score just in time.
Second half I had to start 10 against 12 players, with both my Guard linos being out. With a nice drive through the center of the pitch I brough my receivers into position and was surprised to find Quinn refusing to touch them. Actually, he moved all his four blitzers towards my thrower, despite being out of range even with GFI. Another successful pass from Mosley to Jacques Reeves brought me into scoring position but I found no oponent within range so I opted to stall as long as possible. I managed to knock out three of the Gunfighters (all with 9 on the injury roll *grrrrrrr*) but some bad block results didn't allow me to stall into safety. In return I had to score in my 5th turn, leaving Quinn 4 turns to even the score.
As all of his KO's came back and my two Guard linos again stayed out I found myself being outnumbered again. After his first turn of his drive I had another KO'd Blitzer and another SI'd Blitzer more and thus wasn't able to prevent him scoring. I managed to get a TZ on his ball carrier early, and again he was lucky enough to roll the POW when needed. Amother failed GFI (with reroll) resulted in a crowd pushed and SI'd catcher, which was the only remarkble action during the last few turns. Needless to say Quinn scored in his eigth turn.

Two niggled players could hardly being compensated by only 50k income so the game was bad deal for me. At least two catchers skilled and got +MA, respective Side Step. Only one completion more was needed to also get another skill on my thrower. All in all I think I didn't do much wrong - despite being the better team it was an uphill battle for me during most of the game. Lucky injury rolls (both defensive and offensive) for Quinn made me play outnumbered while his players (which I only managed to KO) were saved by Smelling Salts.

[edit]
The Gunfighters made 5 out of 6 KO rolls. Just before their last drive they made 3/3 - every failed one would have meant one player less on the field. In my eyes that was the main reason why I could not prevent his 2nd touchdown. :-)
