“With 58,000 screaming fans packed into the stadium, two new Blood Bowl teams stood facing each other on opposite sides of the pitch. The Scum of the World skavens took an early lead when Shell scored in only the game's third turn.

In skaven turn 6, thrower Walmart recovers the ball after human lineman Siggi Helmutson has turned it over following a nasty block. Walmart aimed deep down field at the open gutter runner Exxon/Esso, but human lineman Edgar Schuster intercepted the ball and for the rest of the first half the humans of Carroburg Terror stymied the skaven tide. The rest of the first half remained scoreless. Although human lineman Gunther Punzen blew out his knee and will probably never be entirely himself again.

The second half started with Carroburg Terror receiving the ball. There were equal numbers on the pitch as the skavens were still trying to revive thrower Walmart, who was lying knocked out in the dug out.

Carroburg Terror quickly boxed in the ball and formed a loose cage around the ball handler, hoping to lay as many tackles as possible on the skaven. By turn 3 it paid off and Robert Mugabe found himself dragged off the pitch after being knocked out by Ludovicus Laut. This created an opening for ball carrier Udo Nase who rushed from the pocket down field. He was quickly brought down by storm vermin Coca Cola however, but gutter runner Exxon/Esso fumbled the pick-up and gave the humans another chance. Nobleman blitzer Hanz von der Carroburg scooped up the ball after some terrific blocking by his teammates, and huddled up amongst his teammates for the oncoming assault. He was temporarily halted by Coca Cola, but blitzer Lucovicus Laut paid him back by knocking Coca Cola on his behind and Hanz quickly scored a touchdown. End of turn 5, second half, 1-1.

Neither Robert Mugabe, nor Walmart recovered and Carroburg had a one-man advantage on the field. A blitz! Human lineman Reinhold Anseldorf is right on top of skaven thrower McDonalds. The Scum of the World had over committed on their left side of the pitch, while leaving the right flank wide open. This allowed the humans to box in the Skaven and start punishing them. The bad kick bounced around before landing deep in the Skaven backfield. Gutter runner Exxon/Esso ate some turf and stunned himself after trying to dance out of harms way, opening for the humans to completely grab the initiative.

In turn 6 Reinhold Anseldorf picked up the ball and ran right down to the goal line, but didn't go for the score, feeling safe with the distance between him and the boxed in skavens. The skavens suffered another quick turnover when thrower McDonalds was badly hurt trying to dodge away from the action. Now the humans really started laying into the poor skaven, given their advantage in numbers, and there were skavens down all over the field.

In turn 7 Reinhold just danced along the goal line rather than scoring, enraging the desperate skaven fans. However, skaven lineman Kim Jong-il and gutter runner Exxon/Esso quickly caught upt o Reinhold, but not enough to lay a block on him. The other gutter runner, Shell, started moving towards the opposite end zone, hoping to catch a last minute pass. It was not to be however, three humans quickly surrounded the skaven attackers, but couldn't get them off Reinhold tail, but he was still successful in dodging the skaven and scoring the game winning touchdown in turn 8.

The skaven had time to throw all they had at the humans before the whistle blew, signaling the end of the game, but none were hurt in the scuffle.

Carroburg Terror were victorious in their first Blood Bowl match.

MVP for Scum of the World was McDonalds, while the Carroburg Terror MVP award went deservedly to Reinhold Anseldorf.

Carroburg Terror coach Yokiboy gladly shook Scum of the World coach Flapsdaddy's hand and congratulated him on a good match. These two coaches may very well see each other across the Blood Bowl pitch again in the future.”
