#9 Sacheeva Preuk – Smashed Knee (NI)
Battle of the cellar dwellers! Was a fun game that was shaped by some key plays, particularly in the 1st half: a failed handoff by the wights, a great play from Mi-not to recover the ball but then Ghleggoth failing the GFI to score on turn 8. In the end we managed to get the advantage by removing enough skinks from the field to gain the numerical advantage. Was our first win against lizzies (3 losses). Probably would have been a very different game if the big fella N'aanachakrar hadn't of missed the game from injury. Good luck to Irgy with the remaining games.

3 votes - Mi-not (#14) MIghty effort, just about scrounged the victory for the Temple.

2 votes - Da-ubh (#5) Solid defensive work in the 1st half.

1 vote - Udhachagnd (#4) Workmanlike effort.

Well, there seems to be a pattern developing for the Sotek's monks in Premier: Lose too many players in the first half, then spend the rest of the game making dashing plays that nearly, but don't quite work. Usually involving some bad play on the early turns too, although this time it was nothing criminal.

The Temple kicked off, and nearly got the ball back a couple of turns later after a 1d chain push left the ball carrier exposed to be knocked down by Da-Ubh. Mi-Not ran in, but failed the pickup. This left Lakephu, who was high on drugs and too busy watching the action to remember to stand up, to be fouled out of the game, and Aberration Theatre recovered the ball for what should have been an easy stall.

They got confidant however, and while they were mucking around with the ball it came loose. Mi-not ran in, dodged through, picked it up and threw it away to one of the Saurii, who didn't make the catch of course but it left the ball relatively protected. After a failed pickup, Ghleggoth ran in and took the ball away. However, at the final gfi to score, reroll in hand, having made all the harder plays to get there with no problem, he choked, falling onto the td line and dropping the ball.

0-0 at second half, the lizards were receiving the kick, but were again short on players, having only 2 skinks (Mi-not and Chokerggoth) for the entire remainder of the match. A bit of good luck with a failed dodge from Ed Sombre let Mi-not run the ball in on his own for 1-0 up. But 1-0 was not enough.

Aberration Theatre had little trouble scoring, and chose not to stall to give themselves a chance at the win. The lizards made a nice break through the centre, but Mork Blackhelm managed to stun the receiver Chokerggoth. Because the "bad" kick had landed in the end zone, there was no time for Mi-not to run it in on his own, so it was left to the Saurii. As expected, another perfectly good pass from Mi-not was dropped, and Aberration theatre had no trouble running the ball in for 2-1.

Twanhlows:
3 Billy Blender - Spent the whole game removing my skinks, and did a good job of it. The lack of skinks was my key problem in the second half.
2 Mork Blackhelm - Looked after the ball for most of the game, then gave the wolves all the credit. Also got that important stun on the receiver late in the game.
1 Jigsaw - Got in the way a lot.
