thnks olaf,

The game went much as he said, except to mention that the key niggle with the ag5leaper out really made it heavily in my favour.

I still had to often rely on luck and a lucky bounce or two and it would have been interesting to see if I could deal Olaf's excellent positional play as De if i hadn't got the 2nd half blitz.

But it was a fun game played in good spirits.

I dotn deserve the plaudits Olaf offers, but enjoyed the game nontheless.

Despite losing this game 2-1, I really felt like this was one of the best games I have ever played.

The first half was a bit like slamming my head into a brick wall. Chaos won the toss and received. Doom and Gloom limited me to only 2 re-rolls in the first half and both of them were used on re-rolling a Double Skull block. With my AG5 Leaping Strip Baller niggling out before the game I was down to 10 players before the start. A few KO's early further limited my numbers but still my Dark Elves battled on.

I was able to get my Blodging Sidestepping Strip Ball Shadower next to the ball carrier a couple of times and I even managed to strip the ball off of him once or twice. However it still left the ball surrounded by Chaos players and they were able to recover it the next turn. Eventually the Chaos worked the ball down the field for a T8 score.

The second half started with a Blitz against me. By this stage I was down to 8 players so setting up to stop a Blitz result was very difficult. The ball was kicked short on the side of the field where I had only 1 player to stop the oncoming horde. The Witch Elf kept her feet in the Block but she was unable to stop about 3 Chaos players surrounding the drop zone of the kick. As luck would have it, the kick landed in the arms of a ST4 Beastman. I was able to force a slight retreat by the Chaos and got my Shadowing Blitzer next to the ball carrier a couple of times. Unfortunately he was always knocked down the following turn. Eventually the Chaos were able to score again in T13.

PurpleChest is an awesome coach, one of the best I have played here on FUMBBL and he made almost no mistakes during our game. In fact, I really think the only mistake he made was not marking up my Blitzer and rushing too many players forward at me when he was 2-0. However, by this stage the game was already decided and he was probably going for a risky play trying to get another TD. Having said that, PurpleChest still manoeuvred his players well enough to make a Block on the ball carrier with one of his Chaos Warriors. My Blodging Sidestepping Blitzer was able to keep his feet thankfully and scored on the next turn.

An interesting thing to note was that my Elves managed to withstand an amazing 70 Blocks, sustaining only a BH and a SI-MNG. 70 Blocks against is probably a new record for me. Normally I wouldn't put so many of them in danger but on several occasions it was required, either to reduce the number of Chaos assists on a block or to just get numbers on the ball. I really couldn't have asked for any more from my guys.

Thanks for the game PC. You showed me what its like to play against one of the best coaches here on FUMBBL.
