This was a hard fought game and I have to put the win down to my catcher and thrower who played a blinder.

I won the toss and chose to receive, hoping to get rid of some of the beastmen in the first half. The match started well as I KOd a beastmen early and got one of the pesky rotters on the deck ready for a stomping. Unfortunately the foul only stunned him.

Palorrin managed to get his beast in the action early on, and it got a bit congested. Two badly hurt norse players later and it's not looking good for me. Thankfully, my blodge catcher managed to make the most of a hole and sprint solo for the end zone. The rotters' lack of block in their beastmen cost them and they couldn't bring him down. I had enough time to kill Grell before Ulf scores the first, unfortunately in turn 5 though.

I kick the ball and set about protecting my players as much I can. Palorrin has better ideas though and seriously injures Elrik, with me chosing not to use the apothecary. It's perhaps a wise decision, as another BH swiftly follows, leaving me down 4 in the injury box with a couple in the KO. The defence goes well though, as I use my two blodgers to remove scoring threats and eventually Palorrin has no one to throw the ball to for the equaliser. I do manage to BH a rotter, who doesn't regenerate.

Second half and I have just nine players. Hmm. I kick the ball off and it lands by the sideline - which makes it interesting. Coach Palorrin starts battering the norse, getting another 2 KOs early and I'm forced to use my apothecary to prevent a second MNG. Fortunately for Icepelt, the rotters' beast decided to fail several really stupid rolls which helped me enormously. My AG4 blodger manages to get clear and get a straight pow on the ball carrier - twice! Again, the rotters' lack of block cost them rerolls early on and I was able to knock the ball carrier over and pick it up with Huri Gunnarsson before punting it down the other end of the field.

And so began the mad sprint to get to the ball. Helgur Gunnarsson was in support of Huri Gunnarsson and using the thrower's superior agility he was able to get to the ball and score in my turn 7.

I could breathe a sigh of relief before the final turn. Another KO from the rotters, but then a bad block saw Hjell Frostguard kill a second beastman to end the game.

Bad winnings, but I didn't factor in the extra for getting through the second tour round. Next up is necromantics, who have enough for the count... We're not expecting much!

#6 Grell – Dead (RIP)
#8 Tzench – Dead (RIP)
The report from my end isn't much different.... There was some excellent hits early on from Zergoth's Plague, but the dodges made by Icepelt throughout the game put my hits to shame. I think the telling factor in the game was Icepelt's deep field coverage. He kept anyone from the Plague remotely within scoring range completely tied up with players, knocked down, or even stunned. He made the key blocks there, repeatedly succeeded on difficult 1d hits on my ball carrier, and dodged like amazons. A good game, even though he made off with all the money, leaving my poor Plague with none.
