#1 Sifo-Dyas – Serious Concussion (-AV)

The final conflict in our System was upon us, and this time we were to face Dagobah System newcomers, Jabba's Gamorrean Guards, on paper the weakest opposition we would have to face.

Since Lama Su had ascended to the rank of Jedi Master, a growing rift had started to form between Lama Su and Sifo-Dyas, and it came to a head at the game, as both refused to be on the pitch at the same time… potentially disastrous.

The Smugglers elected to kick first and begin their drive with a Trooper KO. Their over zealous efforts on the LOS left our speedy clones, led by Taun We, an opportunity to get in close and tie the ball carrier up, whilst Sifo-Dyas KO’d one of the Guards.

The Guards retaliated and quickly dispatched Taun We to the KO box. The Troopers charged in, Sifo-Dyas at the helm, whilst the out of control Project Rancor continued to watch from afar… obviously determining which, if any, team he should play on.

They continued to beat on the clones, sending another to the KO box and badly hurting one of the stronger ones, as they surged forward – out manned, and with a Rancor spectator, the Guards made an easy score but left time for a reply.

Lama Su began arguing with the coach after he tried to persuade him to take the field despite Sifo-Dyas being on the field and the Guards quickly took advantage of the spat and reorganised themselves.

The Guards left a vulnerable point in their defence, and like an X-Wing at the death star Taun We grabbed the ball and ran in and attacked from cover, whilst the Rancor continued to do nothing.

Now – like us, you’d be excused for thinking that these blobulous green creatures with bottoms the size of the Galactic Champion’s head would be rather sluggish, well, they’re not. One of their men dodged into the protective screen, dodged out again and sacked the bewildered Taun We! The ball was however recovered by a Clone Trooper soon after, and despite another dodging Guard blitz attempt, managed to level the score at 1 – 1 by half time.

Second half – and finally the Rancor did something – may the force be with him! A full blown skirmish ensued and the Guards began to take the upper hand quite quickly despite our troopers having better training… more clones were sent to the CAS box and KO box and to make matters worse, Sifo-Dyas was cruelly knocked down by a lucky lowly Guard’s blow and seriously injured… with the medic unable to help… things were looking grim.

But rather than hold for the draw, Taun We order a different tact and commanded the troopers to form a defensive shield whilst she charged through – seemingly home safe.

Yet again, the Yoda like Guards dodged their way through and attempted to take Taun We down, failing to topple her. Taun We dodged away and scored the winning td!

With four games and four wins, Order 66 have booked their first ticket to the Galactic Championships, but will be travelling without the mighty, albeit battered, Sifo-Dyas. And with injury prone Lama Su, they could find themselves back to fielding lowly Padawans once again.

Ok, so I don’t lose Clones, but the Apo fails anytime he is called in to help a Jedi – the pressure is obviously too great. :(

This was the toughest game we played out of the four. Stupid useless Rat Ogre that threw five blocks all game with two knockdowns, two push backs and managing to topple himself leaves me wondering why I bought him.

1d blocking and Dodging Orcs surprised me throughout, and when you can’t out bash them, can’t out rush them… it makes a skaven’s jobs tough. Not looking forward to playing these Smugglers when they do have skills.

This game did prove to me the strength of newly starting Smuggler teams though.
