Fumbbl Minors 175, round 1. Our chaos dwarves are facing Dusko's well rounded undead with 4 nicely developed ghouls who will be our main target in the game.

The undead opt to receive and we set up in a sweltering heat that will surely help them more than us given their spare zombies. They start well with a gang foul leaving one of our MB dwarves in the BH box for the game. Twice the canny undead go for a chained set of blocks against each bull centaur that could have pushed them right out of the field! We are fortunate that they are instead knocked over harmlessly before the chain can be completed, both times.

The ghoul with the ball dodges up the sideline and through- we're going to have a hard time putting any pressure on him. And in fact our complex play means trying a 2d block with our troll against one of their mummies which ends in the troll face down!

The undead take advantage to move their ghoul to our endzone and commence stall-bashing our remaining players. We are forced to try to blitz him with our non break-tackle centaur but he can't make the risky 4+ dodge with RR! The undead continue to hammer home their advantage with their DP zombies fouling 3 times in a row. Our head coach clamours and shouts for the ref, he's literally jumping up and down on the sideline here and foaming at the mouth! Doesn't he realise how hypocritical he's being? I mean look at the fouling stats of those 'large booted' hobgoblin players he's packing!

However it works as on foul #4 the ref wakes up and sends off one of the zombies. Superior numbers mean we have no chance to get near the ballcarrier any more and we try (and fail) to score some casualties until they score on their final turn of the half.

We set up 10 for the second half (two blockers in the BH box) versus 11 undead (plus they have 3 more subs). Lets see what we can do! They set up just one of their 4 ghouls for the defence - not too interested in risking them and going for the sack I guess. We push forward slowly but then once again try a 2d block with our troll that would have delivered a whole turn of pain, but instead ends in both down, whoops! The undead rush in looking to take advantage of our momentary slip but we resist well: one bull centaur is BH'd with a 1d block from their rookie wight but a 2nd 1d block against the other leaves a zombie badly hurt! We then step up the pain with that same centaur badly hurting their ghoul (who had been assisting the zombie), followed by our first foul of the game which KILLS their best mummy!! Unfortunately he manages to regen but it still pretty much seals this half for us, as we now have a nice number advantage and run our ball carrier through to safety. Time to return the favour of a stall-bashing!!

The undead get a mighty case of yellowbelly spending turns 6 and 7 wriggling in fear on the ground, not even trying to stand up in case they get hurt. What cowards! Their own fans hurl insults and derision at them until we score on our final turn to secure extra time. They spend their last turn kicking us, managing to KO a dwarf who doesn't wake up for extra time where we will receive with just 8 vs 11. Both teams have all 4 rerolls still!

**** EXTRA TIME ****

We start with a few blocks and a foul on a guard-zombie that SIs him to his reserves box but then can't pick up the ball in the now pouring rain. They return the favour with a foul that puts one of our DPs in the BH box. We then try to knock down one of their mummies with a 1d block but can only get a skull twice! However they do something similar when a GFI onto the ball with one of their ghouls fails twice and leads to him in the KO box. They have just one ghoul left on the pitch! However we STILL can't pick up the ball and the undead definetely have the advantage here.. And they manage to pick up the ball first time with their remaining ghoul! We're able to knock him over with our blitzing super star Throggr MacBayne but he's not injured and we're not able to dodge our hobgoblin back to grab the ball / possibly foul him out..

This means the ghoul is able to recover the ball and run into safety, screened by both wights. We try our best to blitz our way through but just can't make it. Eventually they score to take the lead with just one turn left each- surely sealing the win!

But wait, what's this? The ref is clamoring for injury time! Can the chaos dwarf coach really get away with such an obvious bribe? It appears so as the clock is reversed leaving 2 turns each, just possibly enough time for them to even the game! But it's not to be as our first 2d block reveals double skulls, thus wasting the turn and securing the undead win!

GG dusko, good fun and challenging :)
