“The Uaxactun Jaguars suffered their first defeat thanks to a last minute touchdown from the Departed Puppets.

The game started well for the Jaguars. From the opening kickoff Nun Yax Ayin got good penetration into the Puppets' half of the field and flattened Ghoul Kasper, dislodging the ball and knocking him out. Popol K'inich pouched on the loose ball and raced across the line to put the Jaguars in the lead.

The rest of the half degenerated into a mistake ridden slugfest and just when the deadlock looked like it might be broken, with Werewolf Sune racing away for a touchdown, the whistle went for the end of the first half.

The second half saw the Jaguars receive the ball to start. The Jaguars were confident they could control the clock, score and present the Puppets with an impossible task, especially when Ciak K'ak, in his first game for the team, smashed Zombie Kaep into the ground, only for him to miraculously recover. The Jaguars looked to be in control until U Cit Tok stumbled trying to avoid Werewolf Mikkel and dropped the ball, knocking himself cold in the process. Butz Chan recovered but was himself badly injured by a finely executed blitz from Sune. By this point the fragility of the Skinks was starting to take its toll, with none of the smaller Lizardmen left on the pitch. With relatively few opponents to worry about Kasper was able to collect the ball and flip it to Mikkel, who raced over to score unopposed.

With time running out the Jaguars took a risky gamble. Cu Ix fielded the kick and handed it to K'ak Nab K'awil, who made a break down the left flank to try and score quickly. Unfortunately Mikkel came across quickly and shoved the Skink into the crowd, snuffing out the Jaguars last chance of scoring and seemingly consigning the game to a draw. However there was one more twist to this game. Mikkel collected the ball, ran through a gap opened by Wight Micheal's vital block and lobbed a long pass to his fellow Werewolf Sune. Sune followed Kasper's vital block and dived across the line to score a thrilling, if somewhat fortuitous, touchdown as the game ended.

Zombie Gupta and Yax Moch Xok were awarded MVPs, although the two werewolves, Sune and Mikkel, were clearly the best players on the Necromantic side.
