#5 Charuth – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#5 Charuth – Smashed Knee (NI)
The temperature was scorching, worrying both coaches about how their teams would fare.
"Ugh, one of those freaks has a grotesque claw" Coach Kondor muttered "Watch him closely, he'll tear through your armour as soon as look at you."

It seemed, however, that Kondor's Guards spent so much time with their eyes on Charuth that they forgot to pay attention to the game. Wary glaces at key moments when dodging or sprinting sent elves tumbling, allowing the Chaos Daemons to make early progress, leading to a touchdown.
However, the Elves dedication to duty returned after the Computer Badass brutally took down Charuth of the Claw, ending his career. This distraction done away with the Guards managed to repel a touchdown attempt and then make one of their own.

Heatstroke hit hard in the second half, with even the mighty minotaur Baal-Moloch being unable to take the field. With such weakened defences the Elves were able to strike and make another touchdown. Deft passing and poor decisions led to a Chaos downfall.

Just when all seemed lost, good progress was made for the Chaos team and Dantalion the Chaos Warrior managed to dodge into the endzone for a last minute touchdown. A hard fought draw, battled under harsh conditions.

Good game, man.

Kondor shook hands with Coach DarcMarc. Twas an extremely hard fought battle in the worst of conditions. Without a doubt, Kondor would always choose to coach a match in snow or mud than on a scorching day like this. No matter. Twas the will of Nuffle that the cursed sun would shine so brightly this day. Deal with it. That was all they could do.

Looking across the field, Kondor scoped out his opposition. A grotesque chaos warrior, and mightly buff cow, a minitard, and a claw. Indeed, the chaos team came prepared to scuffle. He had once heard Coach Marc complain that the claw and the mighty cow rarely got to hit anyone as they usually took one on the chin first. That sounded like a good plan, so he relayed word to the team to do exactly that.

Well, the first drive did no go nearly as planned with Computer Badass falling on his ass trying to get to the ball carrier. Before the match had really begun, most of the elves were scrambling to regain their footing, but Belphegor found the endzone.

Damn heat helped the elves this time around putting a some exhausted livestock on the bench. Unfortunately for Charuth, he was feeling fine. His problem was not only the fact that he sported a very nasty looking claw, but that it seemed to be new on him. He had not really figured out how to defend himself while taking a hit. The USAF blitzer gave him a rough bump, but as he fell, he landed strangely. It looked like his foot got within the lobster pincer, then his weight fell upon the pincer. He was lucky not to lose his entire hoof. The apothecary rushed to the field with the Mooooo of pain, but as is often the case, this apothecary was no better than an intern with a false credential. Simply first aid was not enough to prevent a niggling injury.

With a gap in his defenses, a long pass to Jolly Green opened a run for the score to even the match.

The second half also saw the herd struck by exhaustion allowing for a a quick though hotly contested go ahead touch down.

There was too much time on the board, and Kondor knew this would be close. This time the herd was far more organized, and they moved the ball well. The expiration of the game was close, and the Demonic Bovine made their move for the score. Another leaping blitz served to jar the ball, and Jarhead picked it up. Now, he realized he was about to be leveled so he tried to get rid of the potato. (Rather smart move for a marine actually.) The problem was in his execution. As he tried to punt the ball, the extremely agile elf wiffed and kicked nothing but air. Not even a shank. The ball dropped at his feet.

This error in execution decided the match as the demonic cattle managed to scoop up the live ball and get it to Dantallon for the score to even the game. The Guard left the match dejected about a victory being stolen from their clutches by a final great play.

Thanks for the match Darc Marc. I'll be looking for our next game.
