#13 Anton 'The Saint' Kaplook – Dead (RIP)
What a game! How Coach McWerter's 'boys did not loose this I will never know.

It started off badly with an error by the Fatboys in their defensive positioning allowing FC Harpies' Wardancer to get around the back of the LOS and sack the 'fling ballcarrier. A massive ruck for the ball errupted, but the more agile Woodies managed to emerge with possession and set off for the endzone. But the pointy ears' thrower Nandorin found himself so distracted by the sweet smells of Coach McWerter's Special Fatboy Sauce that when he tried to GFI he tripped over his own feet! The Fatboys recovered the ball and managed to screen it down the right flank for Rupert 'Rudeboy' Radley to touch down for his first score in the final moments of the half.

The second half didn't start well for the Fatboys as a bad kick gave the Elves possession right on the LOS, and the Wardancer Caleromn sprinted down the field for an easy score. This quick drive was tough on the 'flings as it put three of their players in the dugout, leaving them with only eight of the 'boys to take to the field with their two Treeman, and most of the 2nd half to play. Not fancying his chances trying to screen the ball with the Elves in bashy mood, Coach McWerter took the decision to take to the skys! But Sickamore fumbbled Burt Stallone on the first attempt and the pressure came on hard. Once again the Harpies came up with the ball, but this time there was to be no recovery for the Fatboys, and the ST4 Caledor ran the ball into the corner protected by six other Elves. With only five Fatboys left on the pitch and both Trees rooted to the spot things looked grim as Coach Vezemir was obviously telling his players to stall out the final five turns of the second half before touching down for the win.

But late in this two hour long game, perhaps tiring, Vezemir made an error, opening a tiny gap at the rear of his defensive wall. It was a longshot, but Rollo Gimpfist dodged past two Elves, and then threw himself at Caledor... Double POW and a stun!!! The ball landed behind the plucky Halfling in his own endzone. Inspired by his teammate, Ubert Duckhumper dodged through four TZs to put another man next to the ball. The Elves then came charging in for one last attempt, but Duckhumper was able to sidestep in the way of the ball, and when Gimpfist was knocked down by a block where he stood the wall of battered bodies stood in the way of the Elves and the winning score.

On the downside, leading scorer and potential Legend in the making
Jumble Blard aged on his third skill roll. Having carried the team through their first 22 games without missing a match, Blard explained to the rest of the distraught 'boys that he was knackered and no longer had the strength to hold off the opposing players gunning for him. But never fear 'fling fans - there will be new Fatboys stepping up to the plate in his absence for more amazing flying touchdowns.

Fatboys: always outmuscled, never outgunned
