“Pit Rat Cup II - first round

Gothenburg Gitz won the cherry pick draw in the first round of the Pit Rat Cup when they faced the brave, but decimated Overt Skavengers. While having some impressive players in the mb/rsc blitzer Ratlish Slinek, the quick and hard stopped gutter runner cutrwrist triam and the skilled rat ogre Mad Vineater (at least in theory) they could only field 7 players from the start, and to make it even more unfair the Gitz are virtually designed to hunt down and destroy agile teams.

Smirk da Exakutiona missed the match due to a sneaky poison planted by the opponents, and Ratlish Slinek was buzzed up on chemicals, otherwise all players turned up as expected.

The Gitz started with the ball, and the kick flew right into the hands of the LOS blocker Smash. Mildly confuzed the black orc ordered a cage around him and advanced towards the end zone line while the rest of the team set to work on the skaven. Over confident as the greenskins was they made quite a few mistakes during the match, but the Overt Skavengers were always too outnumbered to be able to use their chances.

By turn 6 Smash could walk in the TD and then the skaven had allready suffered 3 serious injuries. Cutwrist Triam got the worst deal, first suffering a serious concussion which was prevented by the apothecary, just to suffer yet another concussion just moments later.

The 5 remaining Skavengers could do little in the remaining match, but the Gitz managed to inflict a fatality on themselves when Da Inkredible Ulk squished the goblin Wikka da Last Chance on a fumbled TTM. The apothecary was sent in, but the goblins organs were too mangled to be able to save.

The second half started with more bloodshed. Gotcha was KO'd by Ratlish right off the bat, but the greenskins responded with a fatality on Nog Jhir Sign. Smash the black orc was credited the killing blow! By turn 2 the Skavengers were down to just 3 players.

While Snort was handled the ball to make a TD run the orcs decided to gangfoul the prone Ratlish. The clawed monster was simply too deadly to be kept on the pitch. But despite having half the team stomping on the storm vermin they could only stun him. The ref of course noticed the foul, but Spit managed to convince the him that such a clawed beast deserved to get fouled.

The Skavengers suffered from set-backs throughout the match. The rat ogre had a lousy day and despite a reputation for being a skilled blocker often went down on his own offensive blocks, dodges and blocks often went bad and the ball handling was at times awful.

When Snort had run in 2-0 there was still time for another TD. The poor Skavengers were swept aside, and heavily aided by the completly useless Die Medason - probably the most clumpsy skaven in the history of Blood Bowl - the Gitz managed to score yet again through the black orc Smakk.

Thanks for the match, lemf. I admire you both for your bravery to apply with your team and for the good temper you had when you got crushed and had some crazy unlucky rolls. I hope we can play again some time!”
