“A fun and bloody game :)

This time it's against khemri with just one game under their belt and no new skills or players, essentially a rookie lineup.. they have a small TS bonus while we have +9 TR, looks pretty fair. Though very unusually for khemri they have just 11 players. Lets see what the gobbos can do!

Seeing the large amount of illegally oversized and spikey boots our goblins have smuggled onto the pitch the khemri decide to get pro-active and foul first, a gang foul on our frontline troll! He's stunned but luckily the ref is half-goblin, half-orc - married to our coach's sister-in-law's cousin actually - and he immediately sends off the offending, cheating skeleton, hahaha!

We respond by charging goblins upfield after the ball and somehow one of our DP players manages to accidentally slip up on his way, falling on a prone skeleton with his spikey boots - killing him! He does however regenerate in the reserves box after their coach collects all the various bits and puts them in a cardboard box.

Our gobbo swarm however is working well since the khemri slowness and lack of tackle means we can run right through their defense (most of the time) and we manage to overcome their ball carrier a couple of times, eventually even getting the ball ourselves and we rush on to score the touchdown before we take any casualties. (Though not before the -clearly undead- assistant ref sends off another of our DP gobbos after another unfortunate trip up near a prone blitz-ra).

We get another sweet kick off to one side and start interfering with the khemri play, doing well though Thinky (rookie gobbo) gets a bit close to a mummy at one point and is killed (apo fail). We decide on revenge and when a troll blitz stuns a mummy we get our chance! Despite that undead assistant coach we hide stompy amongst a veritable crowd of goblins where he goes to town on the mummy with his new boots - leaving him badly hurt for the rest of the game!

2nd half sees us receiving with both trolls + 7 gobbos versus 3 mummies + 4 skeletons. Both teams low on players here- early casualties could be crucial. We spend the half time break putting a new polish on those spikey boots!

We start fairly well, commanding the ball and running it up one side quite easily, however the khemri really start to fill up our casualty box with 4 BHs and an SI joining our death by the time we score halfway through the half. This leaves us with 2 trolls and 3 gobbos on the pitch vs 8 khemri for the kickoff..

A turn later they have the ball and KO one of the trolls and while we try and slow things down for them with no players we don't stand a chance. They clinically continue to smash our puny remaining goblins into the casualty bin, eventually clearing the field entirely of any and all players!

They score on the final turn of the game but it's not enough to get them a victory and the goblins (once recovered) party through the night!”
