The match started very well for the Pips though. Both of the Cookie Crumbler trees entered the field and were immediately swarmed by ferocious... Pips! The first block against the evil treeman failed, but was rerolled. The result BH lifted the elf spirits up. Some of their players ran downfield as the others concentrated on the remaining tree, which was brought down swiftly.
The 'flings gave a good fight for the ball but after a very annoying disconnection (after which I was almost ready to concede for having lost a near PERFECT turn) the Pips were able to get rid of the little peckers and run the ball for the touchdown. The 'flings did get real close to scoring, but didn't quite get to score. 1-0 the half-time result. Oh, and during the 'fling attack one of the trees did manage to kill one of the elves so... there went their recovery.
More Wooden goodness came upon the Pips after the second half opening kickoff as the tree KOd and seriously injured two elves. The 'flings weren't any luckier as the Pips fans decided to send a few of their players to the dugouts.
The Crumbler attack was stopped, but the ball was grabbed only for a few turns by the elves. They eventually failed in some important dodges and lost the ball. The little halflings didn't fail in theirs, grabbed the ball and delivered it to the endzone.
The Pips still had three more turns to get the win. The several 'flings in the KO box decided to remain there and thus eased the Pip attack a bit. For a moment it looked a bit grim as Dinna Hitmesohard manages to block himself into the KO box. The ball was delivered to Halthar VIpfellow who managed to dodge out from a diving tackle and run near the endzone. The 'flings did get one last shot at stopping him, but all attempts were nullified by Silverleaf Merrymac who blitzed the hindering halfling down. 2-1 was scored shortly afterwards.
Wonderful and fun game on my part. The Illegal Drugs handicap really hit the spot for Mr. Merrymac. +ST is nice indeed. Thanks a lot for my opponent for the game. Sorry about that little shouting episode during the disconnect. Wasn't your fault.”
