We start with the ball and do our usual first turn stuff (gang-hugging a prone thrall) but then a big fireball comes sailing into where our gang-foul took place, knocking over the troll, stunning the DP and KO'ing an assister! This means they are able to blitz through and steal the ball- and despite us getting players around him they dodge away and pass the ball to a vampire on the far side- uh oh. We try our best but can't reach them with more than a couple token goblins and they dodge away to score on turn 4!
And then they do some amazing offensive defence, dodging vamps through to knock over our ball carrier and then sprinting their agi4 to grab the ball and throw it to the endzone. We cover as best we can but a great series of dodges and a blitz sees their agi4 get to the ball, grab it and score their 2nd!
We spend our last two turns going for airborne goblin touchdown attempts but fumble the first goblin and our 2nd attempt sees the troll too stupid to try it.
We are now kicking to the vamps and 2-0 down, though at least our chainsaw remains unhassled by the ref. As we kick off everyone's fans rush onto the pitch in a big pitch invasion! 5 of their players and 2 of ours are stunned - but it means there's a gap for a vamp to receive a pass and rush through one side. We get a diving tackler on him plus a few other goblins nearby.. but he blitzes over the DT and then dodges away to make it 3-0!
They charge through into our end right after they kick- are things going to get worse and worse? Fortunately we're able to grab the ball, hand it off and leg it upfield to eventually score on turn 5 to make it 3-1.
They push forward en masse and score again on their last turn after all 3 vamps run the ball upfield in one turn in a nice series of moves. We try once again to throw a gobbo but again our troll picks his nose slowly instead of paying attention to the gibbering gobbo by his side!
Well won DukeTyrion, our gobbo's most comprehensive loss in the box yet. We want revenge!!”
