“Fellowship of Mordor - Round 6
Going into this match with a 3/1/1 record meant I was already languishing in the upper mid table, and facing Azure who seems to work magic with his human team. we've met 4 times previously and I've won only once.
Unfortunately I think the Minions have peaked... but haven't won anything. Now I've had to rebuild with new mummies, and I can't get Swamp King III off 0spp... And it was just a matter of time before I lost one or both of the wights as they were both av7, so the death nonregenning of Quick Sand II wasn't a great shock, (although it would have been nice to keep his record for casualties going!)... but to lose Twilight Mist, my ag4 ghoul and general safe ball handler to a double 1 dodge and instant RIP on the ground stunned me. I would rather he gone down from a block!
Fortunately I had earnt enough cash to top up my reserves to buy a new wight and ghoul post match... but it now means I have too many green key players to be competitive with teams around me.
Grats to Azure on the win, which was deserved despite my rubbish KO rolls, my general poor luck, and a key 2nd half Kick Off roll for Azure... the win I think pretty much guarantees top spot in this Mordor league for Azure. They just have to avoid a beating from Maggoty Bread in round 7.
As for my Minions I'm back to having a pretty normal and boring Undead team... I hope we can skill up and get some interesting skills to give us an edge again! I feel sorry for pythrr in my last round game as I will be looking to skill as many of my players as possible at his team's expense. ;/”

Buzzing and Extra Training were handicaps. The game was very up and down. We managed to BH (no regen) a dp on round 1 and then a few rounds later BH on foul on a mummy (but regened). However, the game changer was the RIP on Quick Sands - a fantastic wight...with regen failing, it put us in control. We scored too quickly however, and some poor play allowed a massive gap for Twilight Mist lead offense to drive for the TD. We had a chance at a one-turner, but 1 step from the endzone, Blaze failed the 3+ dodge so it remained tied.
In the second half, we had numbers thanks to undead KOs staying out...again and again our MB smashed the ghouls to the ground, but they proved too tough...until Twilight Mist failed a 2+ dodge (with RR) and killed himself on the hard ground. The undead fought - but without their 2 leaders, there was little they could do and the Corsairs scored to seal the victory. With 16 points, it also means the Corsairs will at least tie for first in the final standings for the fourth straight season.”
