“Our dark elves vs Brenkus' necros who's sole handicap is illegal drugs making one of their wolves STR4- what a pain!! The 2 coaches have met before, in a ranked game quite a long time ago where Brenkus absolutely destroyed a low TR chaos team of mine 5-0 with high elves.. I think it's still my biggest defeat! Must... have... reveeeenge!!
Our targets are- werewolves, their only DP, their strip ball wight, then their ghouls (though we have no tackler).
We kick and they start things off with a rookie werewolf 2d block that shows up a both-down & skull .. rerolled into exactly the same. Our lineman is KO'd and the wolf is stunned- but this means they haven't secured the ball and our players can pour through and threaten it. And despite them grabbing it on their turn they are out of position and we're able to 2d block over the ghoul thanks to a guard elf, and then grab the ball and score with a single GFI with a blitzer! A good turn despite being out of rerolls already!!
4 necro players decide they are tired of the game already in the heat so it's 11 elves vs just 9. They immediately KO two elves but at the cost of their DP getting sent off - we're happy with that trade! They then KO a couple more and badly hurt one guard-elf while tossing the ball upfield, so now we are the ones outnumbered! We try and stop them, getting a couple 2d blocks on the ball carrier that can't knock him over. They then chainpush a blodge blitzer off-pitch for another BH and score.
With 2 turns left we go for a touchdown, but good blitzing by the necros gets a werewolf and a ghoul in the way and when we roll double skulls trying to blitz through the half is over and 1-1.
With a witch elf sleeping in the KO box we have only 10 vs 11 for the 2nd half. And things go badly from the very start, with our KO and cas boxes filling up and an inability to get the ball meaning we soon run out of players and the necros stomp all over us. Our final chance to 2d blitz the STR4 werewolf with the ball sees a blodge blitzer niggled on a failed dodge and our apo failing, which pretty much sums up the half. The necros secure the ball and stall for the last few turns, even handing it off to a flesh golem who can skill up by scoring on their last turn.
