The stormvermin took advantage of the knuckledusters the ref brought on the pitch for them in the first half to cause some damage, freely going through the tough dwarven armour to cause some damage.

The dwarven drive came to nothing as the rats took advantage of a gap to pounce on the runner, knocking the ball loose. After some tight rucking, a gutterrunner skittered away to score, leaving the dwarves with nothing to do except stamp on some fallen skaven.

However, on the restart, the dwarven blitzer ran down the touchline, receiving a deep pass from the Voldrick, the runner, and blitzing through a skaven thrower for the equaliser.

The rats put together a good drive at the start of the second half, the stormvermin once again punching holes in the dwarfs thinned ranks. A pass from thrower to thrower was run in for a TD with four turns remaining.

On the restart, the signs looked ominous for the dwarves as Voldrick fumbled the ball twice when he tried to pick up near the endzone. Taking advantage of his slack handling, the rats rushed eagerly through. The dwarves were forced to turn around and attempt to take on the rats from behind. The runner finally picked the ball up and ran for a space, launching the ball once again - this time aiming for a longbeard able to reach the endzone in the time remaining.

The dwarf fumbled the accurate pass, leaving his teammates screaming blue murder as a stormvermin ghosted in and picked up the bouncing ball. In a final desperate attempt to tie the game, the dwarves drew close, forcing the stormvermin to dodge for freedom. He fell, leaving the ball open for the runner to pick up and storm for the endzone.

Once again, the blitzer stood close enough for the TD. After surviving a last desperate blitz from a skaven lineman, he stood, arms open for the handoff with time running out. The runner sprinted for him . . . but confusion reigned and the two dwarves dropped the handoff that would have tied the game!

A good win for the rats in a tight game. The dwarves now face the living dead to bring themselves back into contention for the league!”
