“The Roles accepted this matchup despite having a Mummy MNG. It looked like a pretty even contest on paper regardless, with the Roles still having 3 Str 4 players and 3 DPs.

However, the Cadavers got the upper hand early with a foul on one of the Str4s (and the Roles only Tackler) causing a BH (no Regen). The Cadavers played unconvincing defence in the backfield (not easy to keep out a Str4 MA8 Ghoul) and lost the ball, but made the Roles pay dearly as they niggled the Roles Str4 Wight (failed Regen).

The Roles were having little effect with their own blocks and fouls (a KO on a Wight at best) and were soon heavily outnumbered and could not stop a Cadavers score after rolling Skull and Skull on a one dice Blitz with reroll on the Cadavers Wight.

In the second half, the Roles only had 10 players on offence and were soon under pressure as the Cadavers pulled off a Blitz! The Roles recovered the ball but were under pressure due to the lost initiative and eventually gave up a one dice Blitz on a Blodger and the Cadavers lucked a Pow (on a reroll I think).

The Roles recovered the ball, only to have their Ghoul with the ball trip and kill himself!

Another cas (RIP regenerated) by the Cadavers and the Roles were soon too outnumbered (8 to 5?) and the Cadavers ran in a second TD to seal the match.

Well it was a bit of a luckfest. I had amazing casualty luck, causing 5 from blocking and there was nothing much Manbush could do once I got rid of two of his most dangerous players (Str4 Blockers, one with Tackle). Then the rest was just more good luck for me - him getting two Skulls on one dice Blitz, and me getting a Pow, and also the Blitz.

I didn't have to do much with a decent team becoming a vastly superior team due to the casualties and it was a frustating game for my opponent (it would have been very frustrating for me too if the shoe had been on the other foot).”
