“Kondor crossed the pitch and heartily shook hands with coach Kenty. Kondor had been stalking Sleeper in Metropolis for some time so when the chance came to meet them on the pitch, he jumpped at it.

This was one where Kenty's crew simply could not catch breaks early on. They managed to steal the ball and get it to their star player Lunatic Darkside, but the wolf tripped as he dodged what would have been the go opening score. Instead Commando picked it up and made the throw to Jarhead for the opening TD.

As things continued, they got worse for SM. Jolly green blitzed the young wolf Drax Doomcore and put the proverbial silver bullet in his heart to cause the first casualty of the match. In response to the death of their comrade, the Sleepers put together a beautiful one turn TD that saw Lunatic tie the score in the closing moments of the first half.

Half two was nothing of note until Commando made a marvelous dodge and scooped up a well guarded ball then tossed it cooly out of traffic. Chaplain Mulcahy went on to put the Guard on top. Later, SM would go on to equalize.

Then came the highlight of the match that will be talked about in locker rooms for some time to come. The USAF Computer Badass had been stalking the Lunatic since he scored the one turn TD. Without warning, the heavy handed blitz was on. Someone seemed to shout "look out" but if they did, the normally quick wolf never heard the warning. Preparing for the match, USAF outfitted his gear with silver studs, and as the spine of Lunatic broke the silver must have found something vital. The death howl was earsplitting, and all shuttered in awe. Darkside tried to rise. His talons dug the ground in agony, and the transformation began.

It had been years since Lunatic had gone human, and even the flesh golemn seemed to wince. It was clear that his talent was innate. As the lifeless hair pulled back the human form revealed a once talented and fairly well known human blitzer who had gone missing without a trace. The scars of bowling in his human incarnation had left him disfigured with scars only a cheerleader could love.

USAF stood over the dying predator and nodded. It is as it should be. He died with honor on the pitch he loved staring his opponent in the face. Stride forward to the great pitch on the otherside Lunatic Darkside. With luck, your killer will meet you there some day and together you can continue the match.
