“Well Jemy is very full of praise which whilst misplaced, I will take anything I get in grace it was delivered. ;-)
Getting first turn is always nice and the first few turns saw a thrall break through and rush to a square short of the line. To TD or not? well I am generally a TD when I can guy, but my team had a whole lot of favorable blocks which I just couldn't resist. So blocks away, lots of Orcs down and one RIP. However the Orc thrower in defense make a 2 x GFI 1 D6 block and knocks my thrall down and the ball is into the crowd and back one square away for an easy pick up next turn. I wasn't so lucky with the 1 D6 block. THe next 3 turns saw a mad rush back down field, a turn over and a break out by the vampire out towards the sideline with 2 dodging thralls in cover. Jemy couldn't catch the vamp but was able to cover the thrall I had slated for the SPP. a turn 8 TD for the vamps.
the second half was also a tight affair with the Orcs getting a good break from a fine dodge out of 3 TZ by the thrower. With all the thralls and vamp committed to a scrum mid field, the Orc blitzer had a leisurely 3 turn run to score on the 8th.
very close, lots of twists and turns and a fine result. A close fun game is better than a walloping any day.
“My first game in ranked. Very close match. I was lucky to get a draw. We both had some bad dierolls, me in the beginning and my opponent in the latter part of the game. Polemarch is a true master of assisting with blocks, and I shall study this game to try to emmulate this as best as I can. He was a true gentleman and a great sport. Oh and he managed to kill a black orc with one of his thralls, hats off for that one:)
Rematch anytime.
Hugs
