Challenge from: Me

In my attempts to speed up my lads journey to Valhalla, I once more sought out an Ogre team to do battle with, aye, and get splooshed by. It didn't work out that way.

The first half was dominated by me saying "Crom!" as yet another -2 dice block came off with an Ogre down. I was trying anything, knowing that the 2nd half would see my lads fold like paper, if things went to form. Instead, we were 2-0 up at the break, the Ogres gobbos were sitting it out on the KO bench, and mine were... well, not. Early in the 2nd half, things changed and my lads, true to form, dropped like flies, but nowhere near as bad as before. I'm amazed that so many 2 and 3 dice blocks vs AV7 with Mighty Blow could do so little - stuns and KOs, save one badly hurt. I didn't use the apothecary all game.

My lads charged down the field, hunting the gobbos down as best they could, but in truth the green guys were better at standing up (when on the field) than the Ogres, who were ALL down at one point, and Doris picked up a nasty niggle courtesy of Conan, who made an effort to get out of bed this time, resisting his niggle.

The last touchdown was astonishing. The goblins had, with nothing to lose and without support deep in their back field, dodged, picked the ball up in TZ, dodged, run, pass and more or less made it safe. Decent defensive play meant that, without rerolls, the chances of a 4th td were nigh on impossible. Or so it seems to me.

You might think "that's not so hard." I expected the dodge to fail. Then the GFIs. Then the pickup and Long Pass. Then the catch. I think that's why my luck score finished so high.

#1 Doris – Smashed Knee (NI)
Well... The Old Age Pensionogres lived up to their name by being slow and utterly useless.

Special mention goes to Doris who, thanks to a smashed hand, has had to retire from her crocheting career.

Her scarves will be missed.

In brighter news, it was a very fun game played in great spirit, so thanks very much Meetgrinder, but one day I WILL train these ogres to punch...
