“ROAM '09 - KO ROUND 1

The Red Devils were up against the home country and crowd in their first Knock Out Round. The tabloids were in full force as they desperately tried to find a winner even before the kick off had taken place. They wanted, obviously, the home team to win, but they weren't blind towards the threat the little Belgian mob could be.

The Devils got to a rather good start, receiving the ball and going off towards the Italians TD-zone. On the way many players lost their faces, falling hard on the fearsome granite floor, and one Belgian made eagly almost managed to score before he was pulled down by a block, which eventually led the Italians to take the lead. The first half was tough for both sides.

2nd half looked bright for the home crowd, who was able to bring on a full squad against a crippled Belgian side. The Devils couldn't do much to stop the ball from going passed their TD-line, though at one point a brave Devil of an eagly managed to get the ball to the ground whereafter he almost, just almost, got hold of it.

2-0 was the result the crowd wanted, and which the tabloids loved to exploit.”
