#7 Leonid Brezhnev – Smashed Knee (NI)
#12 Ho Chi Minh – Dead (RIP)
#16 Klaus Fuchs – Smashed Hip (-MA)
Coming off a heartbreaking loss against Slumbering Skink, the Reds ran into Mort Avaritia. The Chaos side was yet to lose, and had just seen off Stalingrad's White Stallions 3-2. The Reds had battled hard in their first Premier season and hoped to turn it around today.

The Reds kicked off, and before they could react they were down to 9 players as Grim Ironjaw and Georgy Malenkov were knocked out. hey got one back by knocking out Theo Kelly with a foul, but could do little until they regrouped. Ho Chi Minh, blocking the path through the side zone, was targetted and knocked over. Mort Avaritia punced, fouling the big man. As Ho was coughing up blood, the apothecary came out to help. The apothecary tried to revive Ho Chi Minh but failed, as Ho Chi Minh breathed his least few breaths. Leonid Brezhnev was then smashed, reiving an injury he'll never fully recover from and reducing the Reds to seven. Albert Symons was holding the ball up nicely for Mort Avaritia, whilst they continued to bring the hurt. When Harold Knight fouled Klaus Fuchs, who will never be as speedy as he once was again, the Reds were down to five. Vyacheslav Molotov made a valiant blitz to knock the ball from Symons' grasp, but it was to be in vain. Lenin tried to clear a path for Molotov to get the ball himself. Molotov grabbed the ball, but was unable to dodge away from William Pettingell and sent the ball flying. Symons was then able to recover and dish off to Bob Hawke, who ran in the touchdown just before half time. In the short space before the end of the half, Karl Marx was able to put John Phillips out of commission with a foul, but at the half Mort Avaritia led 1-0.

Surprisingly, Mort Avaritia were only able to restart with ten players. Geoffrey Grimwade had missed through a nagging injury complaint, and Theo Kelly had not regained consciousness. The Reds also had ten, but were without stars Ho Chi Minh or Klaus Fuchs, whilst Kliment Voroshilov was also unconscious. Molotov chased down the ball and attempted to heave a pass into the Dwarven cage, but lacked the finesse of Fuchs. Mort Avaritia responded by hurting Lavrenti Beria badly, regaining their numerical advantage and indicating that the second half would be as much as a bloodbath as the first. Symons eventually gained possession and it looked like we were in for a replay. Karl Marx found something special, however. he twice dodged away to blitz Symons. Whilst Symons stood up to it the first time, the second time he went sprawling as did the ball. Mort Avaritia recovered, with Bob Hawke gaining the ball and they inflicted more damage. Matyas Rakosi was put out for this week and probably next week too, reducing the numbers to five. Only an unsportsmanlike foul at the end prevented Hawke from scoring. Still, Mort Avaritia would have been happy as they looked across the field at the final siren and saw only four Dwarves remaining.

Twahnlow votes
3 - Albert Symons

The premier playmaker for Mort Avaritia. Whilst they have other options, stopping this guy will improve an opponent's prospects of stopping this side.

2 - William Pettingell

Two casualties and managed to stop Molotov running away with it to set up the first touchdown.

1 - Bob Hawke

The young Chaos Warrior scored one and should have had two, fittingly denied by the avarice apparent in Mort Avaritia's pursuit of casualties.

Thanks OB, bashed well and destroyed my side. It's obviously a big step up in Prem and I'll have to work on my bashing to get something out of it. I'll be watching your match against WDR hoping for some small meaure of revenge by proxy. :) Cheers.
