#9 The Emperor Turbo Mega Ultra Alpha – Broken Ribs (MNG) #9 The Emperor Turbo Mega Ultra Alpha – Smashed Knee (NI)
“Purplechest, with his slightly lower TR, picked ESBI as his first choice and got his pick when the dorfs went for the other elves.
With flat entry it was looking to be a very close match up Tackle MB Blockers vs mass dp elves.....but it didnt really work out that way.
After losing the coin and kicking I was gifted with the best dice anyone could hope to receive, it was truly amazing, kickoff rolled a blitz and I blitzed the str4 bull to make a hole, to find pows a break and a kill, the apo saved him but it was still incredible, chewie then sprinted next to the falling ball, only to have it bounce straight into his hands and catch it. Turn 0 str4 with the ball and his apo used, a bit good.
Purple then brilliantly managed the take the ball away and cage it a few turns later, only for luck to smite him once more.
I swarmed the cage and was then very fotunate as chest rolled double skulls twice in a turn, leaving me men around the cage to take a shot at the carrier, he went down and an elf caught it, ran away and loosely caged it.
The next few turns involved the bulls taking out my ball carrier but not with a good enough bounce to pick it up, letting me grab it once more, stalling for a turn7 score.
Second half receive started badly, with some really stupid moves and a little misfortune of my own picking up, but chest just couldnt get the dice when he needed them and I promptly ran away surviving some blocks for 2-0
Then came blitz no.2 (really wasnt his day) which after a struggle resulted in 3-0
I cant really think of anything positionally or tactically he did wrong, other than let me try and kill one of his bulls 1st half T8 and I made some mistakes so it really did come down to luck :(
I'll need it again to beat my next round opponent, monster orcs or chaos, /boo”
