To their amazement the other finalist was promoted to the same regional division and was to be the first opponent in the new season...

First half things started off nicely with the dwarves getting a shallow kick and a blitz. One of the hobgoblins even managed to catch the ball. After that initial blitz things went downhill rapidly however. Competent defensive play by Vasquez and some rather lucky rolls combined together to take over the ball and eventually run for the endzone for a late half 1-0. Especially frustrating was the fact that out of some 8 recovery rolls I regained 2 players while my opponent recovered 6 out of 6 players. And I'm not even mentioning all the thick skull rolls that failed.

Second half started with my own offense while being slightly outnumbered. After a tough start luck picked up for me and I managed quite a few KO's in a short term. This enabled me to break through and score the equaliser.

All in all a nice and tense first match in the WIL!
