Very simply, I lost the not-rolling-1's contest. Dark elves dodged like mad while I failed a ton of boneheads. My luck improved near the end of the first half, when the casualties started coming. Up to that point it had been a lot of disappointing pushing and failures of all sorts.
I got into the TTM rut early, playing catch-up, and the goblins were having none of it. I still managed to get a score out of one, but the number of failures was less than encouraging.
I still had a chance in T16 to tie the game, but again, TTM to get up and field the ball for a hand-off crashed and left me 1 square short with 2 different players to make the last handoff for the score.
On the plus side two ogres skilled up, and one of them rolled +ST. The rest of the league will be "thanking" you, mwilli72, for now having to deal with the bigg(er) lug :)”

He truly had some ugly runs of 1's, one kickoff he had almost the entire LOS fail their bonehead rolls. And without a dodge skill to be found my guys pranced all over the field.
Had a shortpass attempt that would have put me up 3-1, but that was one of the few 1's I ran across, giving him the chance at the tie. Thankfully they came up the 1 space short to make the handoff.
I've already made it past the ogre hurdle, so I don't mind if the rest of the league has to make it past a slightly higher/stronger hurdle than I had :)
