“I was expecting a very difficult game vs these well skilled up darkelves. I was especially concerned about an ag5 witchelf sending lots of my players in to the crowd.
Tieing up the ref at the start was most pleasing, but did have me wishing I didn't put my dp on the line. I think Madtias should have put more focus on getting my dp off the field instead of my tree. I figured I should be able to make good use of the free fouling, but was only really getting KO's, and I did a lot less damage to him than I was expecting.
Gave myself a headache trying to work out if I could 1 turn vs 3 sidesteppers with the help of leap, spent a while trying to find the option to not hear the spectators carrying on, but couldn't find it, so I just setup to try and do most damage.
Was all looking a bit grim at end of 1st half, but Nuffle sure blessed me well in the 2nd half. I was consistently causing KO's, and his snakes before cage setup had things going my way very nicely.
I'm glad he didn't have more tackle, as I stayed on my feet quite a few times vs dodge pows. The turn he managed to get 2d on my ball carrier was most impressive given the support he had, was impressed.

Nocturama take a tough loss against Wood Elves. We were confident in our ability to defeat these WE before the game, so did not bring any reinforcements. Handicaps against were smelling salts and knuckledusters, both pretty good.
Nocturama received first and scored 1-0 in T8 according to plan. The ball was never threatened by the WE. Focus was not on the ball but on fouling however, because the Twigs' fans got the ref. Nocturama set up every turn so that foul assists were minimized, while the Twigs set up every turn so that the DP couldn't be easily hit. We went back and forth like this, both teams losing players as Nocturama both hit and fouled back. Our DP was ejected on the third foul however, making the rest of the half damage control only. In the end it wasn't so bad, as we could field a full team for second half. In their T8, the Twigs couldn't set up an OTS because of perfect defense.
Second half started with a BH by rock on a Nocturama player. Our fans were clearly not in their best spirit today, letting pansy WE fans both get the ref and throw rocks like that! The Twigs followed up with some excellent blocks, removing three players in T1. It looked rough for Nocturama. But in T3, the Twigs carelessly left a small chance to blitz their ball-carrier, which we did and got him down. There were not enough Nocturama players around to steal or protect the ball however, so the Twigs could pretty easily recover it and score 1-1. But we had forced them to score early and were confident in our ability to win at this point.
It was not to be however. We snaked a dodge when moving the cage, allowing the Twigs a 2d block on Loverman. They had an excellent turn, got him down and stole the ball. Nocturama had a small chance to steal it back again, but failed and that was game. They scored 1-2 in the last turn.
