Wrath of Amu Nesehu was in good shape for the last Albion Regional Challenge of 2009 and took on the World Conquerors II, who booted the sister team Rotten Gothem Resurrected from the tournament a couple of teams earlier. Despite the good shape of the team things didn't look promising. Lauth81 is somewhat of a nemesis to me and our previous 5 matches all ended in victory for him. But today was the day when it turned around!
The match started in a furious tempo with one mummy each KO'd during the first round, and several secondary players getting put out of play along the way. It wasn't the usual foul fest one might expect when to undead teams clash together though. Only one foul was commited throughout the match and that was in the 2nd half.
Amu Nesehu who started on offense managed to cut their way through the opponent lines, boxing in key opponents and stall their way to a T8 TD. It wasn't without trouble though. The opponents had a couple of desperate solo blitzes on Maskini, but never managed to bring him down.
In the 2nd half Sekhet Imune didn't wake up from the KO, so Wrath was down to 3 mummies. World Conquerors II launched their offense, but a key turn broke their spirit. In a matter of seconds the wight Herb was nearly bashed to death (regened a RIP) and the mummy Bobbie was knocked out. That much loss of firepower stunned the undead, who retreated momentarily. That cut of their AG 4 blodge ghoul Johnny who was brought down and fouled out.
The World Conquerors could now only rely on desperate tactics and tried to long bomb at the end of the match, which ended in the ghoul fumbling the ball and dropping it by his feet while the remaining wight got crowd surfed. The fast legs of Elahbi allowed the Wrath to counter-attack and with fortune on their side a skeleton picked in up and handed it off to the MA 7 skellie Elahbi, who could sprint the ball in for 2-0.
