What a game! Da Rippas pull the win out in the last seconds of OT!

Da Rippas brought two Freebooted Linos and Fungus the Loon, while the Crew brought Hthark.

The Crew received first and kept the ball well under control on the ST4 Hobgob, with the Bulls clearing the way and clearly not caring about Fungus, swerving this way and that through the CD ranks. Fungus actually gave da Rippas' Troll a chance to blitz the ball-carrier, but he failed the necessary GFI and KO'd himself.

In T6 the Crew RIP-fouled a Rippas BOB (apo save) but were ejected, giving da Rippas a 2d blitz on the ball-carrier! We brought him down but couldn't steal the ball. In T7 the CD cleared our TZ from the ball but failed the pickup! Da Rippas were poised to steal the ball when Fungus accidentaly knocked over a BOB and caused a turn-over! The Crew then made the pick-up and GFI to score 0-1 at half-time.

Da Rippas second half drive was plagued by Hthark. That guy is unstoppable! :-) We pushed hard and fast down one side, trying to keep the CD blockers out of the action. This worked pretty well, but Hthark got our ball-carrier down anyway. We could recover however, and with a little luck (a BOB caught a bounce and dodged) we got clear of him and scored 1-1 in T6.

The Crew had three turns left to score and put the ball on their MA7 AG4 Hobgob, letting the Bulls take receiver positions in da Rippas' backfield. We focused everything in T7 on taking down Hthark and fouling him and we were richly rewarded: RIP - apo fail! Hthark is dead! In their T7, the Crew moved the Hobgob into scoring position. Da Rippas' coach then had a brain fart in T8, making that turn a lot harder than it should have been, but luckily our protection was enough to prevent the CD from scoring.

The Crew recieved in OT. Both teams had some RR left (da Rippas had 6). And Fungus was back (he sat out the second half)! The ST4 Hobgob got the ball and the CD started T1 with CAS on two BOBs! But then luck turned and da Rippas gradually got the upper hand in the bashing, eventually leaving the ball vulnerable and the CD without RR. With the ball on the ground and control of the pitch, da Rippas felt confident...

...But suddenly one of the CD Bulls made an insane play, with dodge into TZ and pickup in TZ, running away with the ball! At this point however, da Rippas had enough control to be able to hunt him down pretty easily. Then followed some maneuvering that left da Rippas the only option of a pick-up-pass-hand-off play in the very last turn. Success! 2-1!
