#1 Ballerina – Serious Concussion (-AV)
The Fats were remarkably well behaved this match, with relatively few boneheaded moments on key plays.

Considering bonehead and the difference in TR giving up 3 handicaps would hopefully balance out the large TS gap, the team decided to bring on the challenge.

Shortly into the first half however Tutul Xiu proved that messing with the risen dead was not to be taken lightly. His rampage began by eliminating Lump from his debut game, fortunately causing no lasting damage. Clearly now the red mist had risen and spying the Candlestick Maker posturing nearby, Blitzed his rear (no pun intended..) bringing him down with a crunching of bone and rending of flesh. So early into the match, and with an already depleted squad, the Doc was rushed onto the pitch, successfully bringing the Ogre back into play.

Despite punishing the Ogres severely in the blocking war, the Dead were unable to relieve Dumpling of the ball, and who stayed alert enough to make a turn 8 touchdown.

The second half showed that some of these half rotted bodies clearly had a touch of elf blood in their previous "lives" and with a seires of short passes, hand offs and catches, positioned the ball well behind a screen of Mummies and Zombies.

By turn 3, Ballerina had left himself vulnerable to a crowd push, and was subsequently ripped apart by the screaming Itzamna fans.

Looking at the twisted lump of shredded flesh in the Ogre dugout, the Doc declared that Ballerina would be fit to play again, however the wounds would leave him physically disfigured and unable to effectively don the teams armour.
We'll see his return in the near future, but this time with a fair bit more exposed flesh!

As the confidence of the Undead grew, Morning Cook could be heard yelling pastry related insults to Dumpling. Taunting the larger brute with comments as to what he'd do to a dumpling looking like that in HIS kitchen. This caused the already rather fragile ego of the Ogre to snap. With the final whistle about to blow, Dumpling launched into the Cook and tore him to shreds, way beyond his ability to regenerate. The pitch went silent for a moment, and then, Flotsam, almost unnoticed, ran over the line to score, the crowd erupted.

A win for Fat 4000, though at a cost! Blood of Itzamna performed excellently, and were truly misfortunate not to bring the game to a draw.
A well played game by SongCoyote, and a truly unforgettable match.

See you again on the pitch!

#11 Morning Cook – Dead (RIP)
The followers of Itzamná were about to settle down for their evening's repast when a brutish voice called out to them: "HEY YOU! DEAD GUYS! PLAY?"

Looking up, they saw a rather formidable-looking band of Ogres, one tossing a ball up and down. They had obviously been playing for a while, unlike the ancient dead, but after considerable discussion, Yaxun Balam and Tutul Xiu decided they should not pass up the challenge and would test undead resilience against Ogrish strength. Besides, Kan Boar seemed more than eager, and they spied Cu Ix slipping a pair of knuckledusters under his gloves.

In the end the game went pretty much as expected: the Ogres beat down the Undead time after time. But with the blood of their god feeding them the doughty walking corpses put up a spirited defense, nearly stopping the Ogres' initial drive with a series of remarkably successful hits and moves, even when a single Zombie was facing down an Ogre. It was not to be, though, and the first half ended with an Ogre lead.

Bolstered by their near-success, the Undead received the ball in the second half and started a good run. Kan Boar got overconfident, though, and left himself open to a blitz which naturally laid him low. Ballerina left himself vulnerable on the play, though, and was pushed into the crowd with terrible results: not dead, but forever made more fragile... like his namesake.

After that there was a mad scramble for the ball, and the Goblin Flotsam came up with it. He dodged his way to the end zone in spite of rampaging Zombies, making it 2-0 Ogres. During the play the team's favorite Zombie, Morning Cook, was killed forever. His strength and his fine breakfasts will be sorely missed.

There was nothing for the dead to do at that point but try to punish the Ogres. While the front line pounded as much as it could, the Skeleton Jeweled Skull found itself receiving the kickoff. Not knowing what else to do it tried a pass to the Zombie Rug Mender, who uncharacteristically caught it! The crowed loved it so much they gave the Zombie the MVP.

I must say that never have I so enjoyed losing a game - this one was truly fun. This was in no small part because Olgrot's commentary, commiserations, and goggle-eyed wonder at a successful Skeleton-to-Zombie pass (not to mention some other incredibly lucky moves I made) were very entertaining, and took the sting out of losing Morning Cook (my 2nd of 3 +ST players ever, and the 2nd to die within 2 games of gaining it).

Thanks, Olgrot, for a great game. Had I played just a little more conservatively (covering Kan Boar better during the 2nd half) this would likely have been a tie, but you definitely earned the win.
