“It was a beautiful day at Diggly Field as your Industrial Diggers played their final game of the regular season, taking the pitch against the league-leading Dodgyyy Girls! This much anticipated game brought in a record crowd for Diggly, including a few fans from other teams in the League!

The Amazons won the toss and elected to receive, and the game was on! The first blow of the game stunned the Diggers' rookie Troll, Yanmar - he's going to hear about his performance in recent games, have no doubt, as he seems to spend most of his time on his back! The rest of the opening scrum was uneventful, though... until the Hobgobling Loess started dodging the ref more than his opponents, and badly hurt Tracy with a nasty blow.

Meanwhile, Kelly and Brook spent some time passing the ball back and forth while their front line tried to tangle up the Diggers. They waited a little too long, though, and Loess once again brought his dirty tricks to bear on the fallen Donna. Her blood spilled out, but the apothecary reached her just in time to keep her from the brink of death.

In spite of this bloody beginning the rest of the game was remarkably peaceable, with many people being knocked to the ground but no one taken off for more than today's game. This in spite of the 'Zons managing to push Mahindra into the crowd! Diggers fans are loyal, though, and they only roughed the Bull Centaur up a bit before sending him back to the stands to wait for the next kickoff.

By now Yanmar had awakened from his nap, though, and tied down more Amazons, allowing Chaos Dwarf Gradall to get free and strip the ball from Kelly. Blitzer Mona came up with it, though, and it looked bad for the Diggers even though Loess continued his dirty tricks by knocking out Brook.

The 'Zons underestimated Chaos Dwarf mobility, though, and rookie Alimak knocked down Catcher Mean Mona... then scooped up the ball himself! Just then the Amazons got a break in return as Loess got knocked out trying to dodge away from a pair of Dodgyyy Girls.

The Girls' muscle-bound Blitzer Velma then proceeded to knock out Yanmar, clearing the way for a blitz on Alimak by Gina, who hit hard and fast, knocking the ball loose again. Right after that, though, the Amazons' legendary agility failed them, and Barb stunned herself trying to dodge away from Caterpillar to join the fray.

There was another massive scrum, with Amazons being sent to the KO box left and right! Marl, the Elven Hub, came up with the ball and made a break for it, screened by a pair of Dwarves. Even this couldn't stop Velma from getting in a lucky blow , though, and the first half ended tied at zero after a last-second pass from Marl failed.

The second half started with the Diggers receiving, and with their Troll still napping they would have to push a little harder. Loess was still in the game and quickly knocked out Donna with a nasty sneak-blow, and the real fight was on. Caterpillar found himself on the ground after a lucky blow stopped his blitz, and the Girls quickly descended upon Marl, who had once again come up with the ball. Gradall came to his aid, though, an in a moment both girls were down. Marl ran to the other side of the field, hoping for an end run, but found himself surrounded!

A few blocks later, though, the Elven Hob found a path blocked only by Velma, who he deftly avoided. Looking at the field, he saw his best chance: Mahindra was standing alone on the opposite sideline, just a short pass away! Shaking his head at his own foolishness, Marl threw a clean pass right into the Bull's stubby arms, and in a moment Mahindra took off toward the end zone! With Boxer able to join the run a moment later, there was nothing the Amazons could do to stop the strongest player on the field, and after knocking down Mean Mona right near the end zone (and no other Amazon near enough to help) the Diggers' coach elected to take the risk and run down the clock. Mean Mona's last desperate block bounced off the Bull Centaur's hide, and with her on the ground Mahindra pranced into the end zone. A quick shoving match later and it was over, with the Diggers winning 1-0.
