“Ouch, nice bloody game here that I somehow managed to win..by throwing a long pass to a longbeard and running it in from mid field!!
I must apologize to my opponent. I've been in a foul mood since my game last night vs SoSoGi and I did not respond well when he fouled a couple of my guys (one dead, one -mv) and then said he was sorry about it. I understand that he only wanted KO's or BH's..heck those are the best kind of injuries, IMO..But he has no contol over the actual 1d6 injury roll..nothing to be sorry about. I don't think he was out to destroy my team or anything..just get some key players off the pitch. So,I'm sorry if I seemed a bit angry over it..
Anyway, we both have dead and MNG players-0-like I said it was bloody..we both used apoths on RIPS (his on a guy that failed a dodge and died)
Anyway, back to the game. I did the typical dwarven thing on the 1st drive, taking 5 or 6 turns or so to score. Slowly but surely moving forward and eventually scoring.
He tied the game up in 2 turns by leaping over my runner and doding in for the td (good play!)...
then, on turn 8 he fouls a guy (only stun)..no fouls until now, but I kinda figured he might start at some point since he has a dirty player...and he really hadn't had the chance to foul before then..either too busy picking his guys off the ground or trying to score quickly himself.
2nd Half, I kick to him. after some bashing on the line, he gets his catcher deep in my backfield..but didn't send anybody to protect him.. I get my tackling, str 2 runner to hit the catcher with a 1db..had to Re-roll, but I got him down and got the ball. After a skull skull on my part, my opponent tries to knock down the ball carrier, but only succeeds in pushing him back (go dodge!!) He also fouls my other runner (-1mv) out of the game...so, I'm left real out of position..my runner by himself with 2 oppoents close by and all the rest of my team in mid field and unable to get to me at all.
I did have alot of guys in the upper wide zone area..and most of the humans were in the lower wide zone area...so, I got my runner out of any TZ's and passed to the only open player of mine on the field..a long pass to a long beard!!! and I made it!!!
From there, I was able to slowly march in..setting up a decent (but not perfect) wall to limit the humans options.
I scored on my turn 6, leaving him 2 turns to score..but the Heat got 4 of his guys, so he was undermaned--almost as bad as me. He didn't set his catcher up to get the td..but to be the thrower. He only moved one player into TD range..but I clicked on move instead of blitz to try and knock him down!!...didn't matter as the catcher flubbed the throw (or was it a handoff, not sure)..I didn't do anything on my turn 8 as we had caused enough carnage for the day, IMO.
