Ah Nuffle! Hello old friend.

A very one sided game in terms of dice, but the Panther's superior positioning saw the cage of the orcish offensive grind to a halt, where the lizards were then thwarted a few attempts at a td by dice that really shouldn't happen :p

Blood sacrifices were made, but nothing could appease the seemingly vengeful dice god and the second half saw the same mismatch in rolling ability, with several bungled rolls (and a saurus that still hadn't remembered he'd learnt break tackle). After a bit of nifty play (if I do say so myself) however, the lizards were well on their way for a 1-0 victory, every orc but one tied up downfield with 3 jubilant skinks and a saurus chilling on the orc's touchdown line.

And here's where the dice went even worse. Since we had the situation pretty much wrapped up, we handed off to a the saurus to skill up the rookie and failed with a reroll. No big deal, still got one left. The single mobile orc blitzer smashed through the skink diving tackler and stood adjacent to the ball, toe to toe with the fumbling saurs. Fine, no problem. 2D block from the unskilled saurus - both double downs. Ok, reroll, we only need a pushback - both double downs. Ah well, we can still gang rush the blitzer next turn, the ball shouldno't go far. How wrong we were. The blitzer picks up the ball and throws a long pass with elflike ease, perfectly caught by his teamate, who, unmarked by my ST5, break tackle saurus who was badly hurt by a lucky 1 die block the turn previously, strolls the lizard's touchdown line for a turn 16 goal. Crap.

In all fairness, I should have marked the blitzer with my diving tackler before making the block with the saurus...but I didn't expect that avalaunche of 5s and 6s. Still, a lesson learnt.

Thanks for the game Serial Messiah and apologies for perhaps being a bit mardy at the end - I very rarely do, but to have fought against the odds so long, come out on top only to have it snatched away by dice at the end was very frustrating. Rematch sometime I hope ;)
