“Riverdale Rumble - May 2010 round 2

Hard fought match against a good coach. I won the toss and opted to receive. Was able to score in 4 turns but was not comfortable stalling as the ball-carrier was all alone (although at extreme reach of 2 wights). Didn't want to risk either failing a GFI or having my opponent succeed on a double GFI blitz. Was able to hold off the Standards for 5 turns but it was close. I was able to remove Tony Bennett and Buddy Clark in the 1st half, so I was kicking off second half with 11 to 10 players. Second kick off was a pitch invasion that stunned 3 of mine and 2 of pizzamogul's. He failed the first pickup attempt so I tried to pressure the ball. However, he was able to get it secured on the second try and caught me a little over extended on one side. Some close moments and he finally got the ball-carrier downfield but not well-protected. I knocked the ball loose, but couldn't completely cover it. He got a blitz on my 1 ghoul covering the ball and made a grab at it, but failed the pickup and was out of rerolls. On T8 I thought I'd try to pick the ball up and make a quick pass for SPPs. Instead, I killed poor Leonard Cohen on a blitz because he was standing next to the ball and got 2 SPPs and a new zombie instead. My attempt to pick up the ball failed.
