“Game 3 of the WIL season continued with another match against Lizardmen, although these were much higher skilled than the previous opponents.

The game started badly for the Miners, with a poor kick going out of bounds, the touch back going into the hands of a welcome Saurus. The Miners tried all they could to halt the Lizard advance, but in vain as the score went to 0-1. The next kick off saw a Blitz by the Lizards, but the ball bounce helped the Miners, with the touchback giving them a chance to attack down the other flank, but just in sight of the scoreline the rookie slayer double skulled, ending the half.

The second half the Miners came back more determined than ever, and suddenly it went crazy. A Saurus was BH'd another SI'd himself (and was Apo'd) then 2 skinks were slain in quick succession. Sensing the chance of victory the Miners scored quickly, pushing for the win. The Lizards came again, although short on numbers, but were halted at the line. First the Miners, then the Lizards, then the Miners again tried to recover the ball, but the Lizards came away with it. The Miners made a final attempt at stopping the score, but double skulls left the Lizards only needing to dodge. Luck was not with them however as they failed the dodge, leaving the score at 1-1.

In the end the Miners looked relieved to be coming away with a point, even though at one point they felt the win was in reach.
