Game 3
Handicaps against: I Am The Greatest (Ulfhednar Hexenverr & Ambrosio the Mad Monk), Doom & Gloom, Iron Man (Char'Lee Joiner), Illegal Drugs (+ST Ione Skott). On the plus side, after Handicaps were determined, Ambrosio's niggling injury flared up and he decided to sit out anyway. At least that's his story, I think he suspected I was going to leave his butt on the bench unless something happened to Ulfhednar....
This game started out poorly for me, with my 2nd or 3rd block resulting in quad skulls (including the reroll) and stunning Otranto. Then my opponent got through my lines and picked up the ball, and blitzed poor Ulfhednar into the BH box for the remainder of the game. I was able to knock the ball loose and Schedoni picked it up, but he couldn't go anywhere and the Chargers were pressuring him at every turn. Then the casualties broke open for the Crusaders with a foul on Ione Skott that Badly Hurt the Illegal Drug user. Stinkytroll used his apothecary, probably because I was having trouble doing anything and only had 1 reroll left with several turns to go. This proved to be a critical turning point as my very next CAS was an SI on Ione. After that, it was SIs and RIPs at every turn, and by the end of the half Stinky had 3 players remaining. By the end of the game he had 2, but he never quit. He even threatened to score in T7 of the 2nd half when he handed the ball to Charl'Lee Joiner who blitzed through my line making 3 dodges and 2 GFIs. Fortunately Loup-Garou was just able to reach him with a blitz that stunned poor Char'Lee, allowing Schedoni to pick up the ball and hand it to Loup-Garou. He then ran down the field and threw a final TD pass to Uncle Silas Ruthyn, who nearly bobbled the ball but managed to hang on and GFI'd across the goal line.
Thanks for the game, Stinkytroll, and sorry about all the carnage. I admired your spirit of never quitting. Also, let it be noted that he didn't complain one single time in spite of everything. I couldn't have done the same thing in his place.
