The Ref's were watching this game very close, which was a smart move considering both teams wouldn't have minded knocking a piece or two out of a possible playoff opponent.
As too the level of play not much could be said, both teams failed tons of rolls.. near the end of the game a werewolf with dodge fell three times in a row, trying to escape a lineorc.. I was only a few lucky breaks at the beginning of the second half that allowed me to win instead of tie. (Blitz on the kickoff, wight and golem knocked out on the first turn.. etc.)

Fun game as always Flash.

#7 Ambrosio the Mad Monk – Dead (RIP)
NWFL Regular Season III - Part 2A
Game 5

The Crusaders ended the regular season with their first loss in the NWFL to a very good orc team and stout division rival. This was a very ugly, sloppy game of smashmouth ball, with the orcs hitting a little harder and having a little more luck in ballhandling. Both teams were failing GFIs and dodges (I think we went a combined total of 4 for 10 or 5 for 11 on GFIs). The Blasters got the kickoff in the first half and the Crusaders were able to threaten the ball. But the orcs began clearing the pitch and the numbers advantage (and putting myself out of position trying to get the ball) was too great to overcome. The 2nd half I went for a quick score with the Crusaders only to be hit with a series of unfortunate (and unlikely) failures on easy rolls (see comments about GFIs and dodging above) and I couldn't gain any traction.

The game also saw the passing of Crusaders' Star Player, Ambrosio the Mad Monk (Ghoul MA 9, Blodge, Sidestep). This was his first game back after a 3 game hiatus (nigglin injury flared up 3 straight games in a row) and the Blasters did their best to welcome him back. Unfortunately, they welcomed him a little too hard. His skills will be missed in the playoffs but many fans were happy to see him go on the field of battle rather than be cut in the offseason. It is only fitting that he fell at the hands of our division rival.

Good game, Jasfmpgh. Hopefully I got all the bad dice out of my system so if we meet in the playoffs I can return to my early-season form.
